  1. Dvla have a phone number that can be called to check your licence status. Hire companies use it to check when you turn up without a licence. Give it a call and see if that says you have a full licence. The Harley dealer can do the same.
  2. First attempt at fitting the bellypan.. think it might be in the wrong location, but it gives a good idea of the matt carbon against the gloss paint. the glossy looking carbon would have looked a bit too bling for this bike i think.
  3. Well you know what needs to be done dont ya...
  4. Cheers - yes there is a fine line between cool and tacky mods. Yep, I was surprised myself actually. But the only rain its ever seen was a light shower overnight at last years TMBF rally, and twice when ive been caught out by a vey light shower. It does still look brand new, and ive never cleaned it myself (despite buying loads of cleaning products) ive always left the cleaning to the dealer Next mod is the full length mat finish carbon belly pan to cover the huge gap left where the metal dustbin cat was removed. Its in my garage and waiting...
  5. I decided since i'm not getting the new model S1000RR (Ive heard too many horror stories) i'd start modding my one instead. These are my existing mods that ive made prior to this week. Strada Racing short levers and preload adjusters: Also ive replaced the pillion seat with seat cowl and removed rear footpegs for a racier look. Tail tidy to get rid of the stock number plate hanger. Carbon rear hugger. This photo taken just after i got the bike - the pillion seat and tail tidy were first on the list! This weeks mods: LED Side lights: Exhaust came off: Replaced with full Akrapovic system: Replaced R&G foot rest blanking plates with EvoTech on the left hand side to match the EvoTech exhaust hanger: Engine case sliders: I'll update as a i add more mods
  6. I see where youre going with this one...
  7. So many riders look like Teletubbies these days with strange cameras poking out the top of their heads. Thats why I keep my cameras more discreet.
  8. So hes faked a writeoff to explain the downgraded bike.. Until he can pass his test and then miraculously his written off bike will reappear all fixed and good as new!
  9. Its the land of the genuine fakes! The pride themselves on fake stuff.
  10. I went to Turkey last year... had a great time. We stayed at Lykia World, Olu Deniz. Very friendly bunch, and the all inclusive resort had amazing food! its a bit of a family resort though, so if you dont have kids it might not be your thing. Paragliding down from the top of a mountain and landing on the beech 5 second walk from my dining table was pretty cool experience. And the scenery was good too..
  11. haha classic mate!! where do you find these idiots?? Best find his girlfriend and let her know he's not licensed to taker her on the back.. let her have the conversation with him... that would be fun to be a fly on the wall!
  12. Huge amount of effort for a track bike! Great result though.
  13. On the contrary! But as KTM21 says, the system is flawed. Taking an otherwise law abiding citizen and locking them away with real criminals will only result in producing another real criminal at the tax payers expense. What about doing something useful with him that benefits both the family of the deceased, and the taxpayer, and rehabilitates him at the same time?
  14. No substitute for local knowledge. Also the police will stop a chase when it becomes too dangerous. They have his licence plate and a clear view of him and his bike so they can catch up with him later..
  15. Its like a modern day Honda Dax! Even the engine looks like an updated version. I bet thats great fun to ride
  16. Provide a hi-res image of the TMBF logo and we can all create our own variants on the theme!
  17. Murder is a premeditated act of killing someone and carries a mandatory minimum sentence. Killing someone unintentionally is manslaughter and carries no minimum sentence but in the uk it typically carries a 7 to 15 year sentence. this guy didnt set out to intentionally kill anyone (or did he?) so its right he receive a manslaughter charge, not a murder charge. Is 6 years enough for such a reckless manslaughter? That's the question.. Just shouting "give him life" is not too dissimilar to the pitchfork weilding witch burners of the past.... What if his speed had been 'only' 50mph in a 30? Would the same penalty apply? What if it had been 40mph? At what point does speeding and killing someone warrant (to the witch burners) a life sentence? Thats the kind of decision the lawmakers need to make.. Not easy!
  18. I didn't actually comment about if the punishment fitted the crime or not, I just providing a different viewpoint (for the sake of debate), that driving at excessive speeds is not the same as premeditated murder, and should therefore (in my opinion) not carry the same punishment as some have suggested he should be treated like any other murderer. At what speed above the posted limit does the crime change from simply "speeding" to "intent to commit murder"? and does speeding and not killing anyone make us failed murderers??
  19. Accidents happen, yes the guy was a dick driving at 80mph in a 30 limit, but the death was not deliberate. it wasn't cold blooded, premeditated murder, so it shouldn't carry the same penalty. If it did carry the same sentence, then that would devalue the sentence for actual cold blooded killers. Imagine them bragging now - "hey i killed a guy in cold blood, I slit his throat and watched him bleed to death whilst drinking a beer and smoking a fag... and the best part? I only got the same sentence as a bloke who ran someone over"... scary world when speeding alone starts to carry long custodial sentences, and accidents carry the same sentence as premeditated murder!
  20. How do you get phone touch screens to work with gloves?
  21. If you have to have the music any louder than you would whilst not on the bike, they are not blocking the noise, but the louder music is masking the noise and causing ear damage.
  22. Roll 'em up, suck them to make them wet, stuff them deep into your ears with your mouth wide open and wait for them to expand and form a seal.
  23. Foam ones are fine if you install them in your ear corectly. I had some moulded ones but I didnt find them very good. As soon as the seal breaks between the plug and your ear, all the noise comes in.
  24. Looks much better mate!
  25. @1:03 - you could have got massive air off that hump back bridge!! try harder next time
