  1. Keep us updated! If youre anything like most bikers, one set of kit will not be enough. You may think it will be now, but after you've done a few miles and discovered the downsides of your chosen gear, you'll be looking to buy more. You may decide kevlar jeans are a good idea, or a mesh jacket for the summer, or slightly thinner/thicker gloves... There is no such thing as gear that ticks all the boxes!! But with your budget you could buy a great selection of gear and mix and match as you like. Thats what most experienced bikers would do.
  2. Think your year of bike still has points. If the coil is getting hot it would suggest the points are not separating and the coil is just staying energised. The spark happens when you cut the power to the coil.
  3. That looks pretty awesome mate! I'd love to go exploring like that.
  4. Brave man leaving a nice bike like that chained to a lamppost! Get it in your garage quickly and try not to let too many people know its there!
  5. Well that's where I'll be then Get a tent! The Premier Inn is miles away and you'll need to get a taxi, and you'll miss all the late night fun.
  6. Here is a link to the fileshare: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing At the time of posting, about 6 videoes were still uploading...
  7. haha, dont worry, it will make your new bike feel so much more special!

I'm afraid I find this a bit boring as well. But then I grew up watching this in the 80's and 90's so have fond memories of the cars and the races. The new cars just don't hold my interest like the "classic" races did. The 90s cars were great! I bought a Peugeot 405Mi-16 because of the BTCC those were the days...
  9. Not hit a nerve at all! Trying to save you some cash mate. As you say, you work hard for it so you dont want to waste it on kit thats not suitable. Ive got no problem spending loads of money on biking stuff. A grand on a jacket and 500 on a helmet - no problem - IF in was wearing them all the time in allnweathers and needed to know I'd be dry and safe. But as a newbie summer only rider, you dont need to spend that sort of money. Helmets all meet the same legal requirements. The only difference is weigh and features. Some have internal visors for example, but you dont need to spend loads of money. The best helmet on the market with an interrnal visor is probably the shoie GT-air. Its about 380quid and if you get it from helmet city you get a free set of boots.
  10. Just clearing space on my cloud storage and I'll get them uploaded for you!
  11. You have a red tail light. And if you get rear ended by a car, you're clearly not riding correctly. Rear observation is essential and you should try not to ever stop at the back of a queue where you're exposed. Filter past the stationary traffic to get to a safe place. Your money would be better spent on tuition rather than fluorescent dayglow gear.
  12. Nope, he won't. Why should he? Its not in any way connected to your business, its for your hobby. There is a saying "all the gear, no idea" and if go out and blow 5k on biking gear before you can even ride, you'll be in danger of having that label applied to you. As has been said, price doesnt reflect safety. If you feel you have to spend large amounts of money on protection then you should be looking at airbag systems that inflate when they detect an accident. Also wearing expensive gear can easily give you a false sense of security. No gear in the world will keep you alive if you hit a lamp post at speed or go under the wheels of a truck, so the last thing you want is to buy a false sense of security. As for hiviz - if they dont see the bright headlight coming towards them, they are unlikely to see the rider in hi-viz. Hi-viz is fine for horse riders and road workers, not "bad ass bikers" lol.
  13. And why do you need a cover for the bike? Dont keep a bike like that outside, stick it in your garage! You can buy a hanger for all your gear and keep that all in the garage too.
  14. Your budget for gear is insanely high for basically one outfit! Here in the uk you may have noticed we have changeable weather so having a good mix of leathers and textiles, winter and summer gear to chose from is a good idea. What makes you think you need to spend that much on helmet, leathers boots, gloves and base layers?? Also those boots dont offer much protection. For leathers, dont get a one piece unless you're going to live on a racetrack. For the road two peice leathers that zip together are a more practical solution. Its nice to take the jacket off. Edit: and high vis doesnt work, but most importantly will look crap as it will clash with the bike!!
  15. Great pics! I think i have the entire rideout on video... im too lazy to edit, so i might just upload the entire lot and let you lot find the good bits!
  16. Nice one. Still need to edit all my footage! What software did you use to mask the number plates?
  17. I'll stick it in the post tomorrow. Been too busy to get to the post office !

Sorry, I was too busy thrashing my bike round brands hatch to vote on the future of the country..
  19. Jets need cleaning maybe?
  20. Bloody hell, chillout Nick!!! And I would certainly say the same thing to anyone thinking that taking their test in another country was a quick easy route to getting a licence. Bikers tend to be a pretty outspoken bunch - thick skin and ability to not get intimidated are essential for any biker, so I'm pretty sure Miss Megg actually would say exactly what she thought directly to your face. None of us want to share the roads with incompetent riders who crash and give bikers a bad name and increase insurance premiums for riders who have taken the full UK test. Even though we are supposed to be a European union, the testing standards in other member states are very different from those in the UK and the level of currpuption in countries such as Greece are much higher. So without mentioning why you would do the majority of your training in the Uk then take your test in Greece, its natural for people to assume you were trying to take the easy route.

All very well, but whilst we still have a nation of workshy layabouts, who can make more money on the dole than on an apprentiship and have more fun staying at home smoking weed, watching TV and copulating with the local girls who have been brainwashed to think getting pregnant is their ticket to a free house and free money, who's gonna do the apprentiships??

basically, the country is F*cked. too many work shy British layabouts moaning that the jobs they never even dreamed of applying for have been taken by immigrants who took the chance to leave their own crappy countries to find a better life. Meanwhile everyone likes to slag off the bankers for upsetting the economy with their irresponsible money juggling whilst getting themselves into debt with payday loans and blaming "the system" for their own inability to manage their spending habits. And even though they've never worked, or intend to work a day in their miserable lives, they cant share accommodation, and insist the state provides them with an entire house of their own, and moan they get taxed for having empty unused rooms that could be used for housing homeless people.. They use these free houses to sit around watching Jeremy Kyle on huge flat screen TVs and playing playstation, in between having sex with anyone who's interested and producing offspring doomed to live the same meaningless, sad parasitic lifestyle. Meanwhile the young kids wishing to better themselves and avoid the jobless scumbag council house trap by working hard in school are essentially taxed for going to university in the form of extortionate tuition fees, that the Scottish dont have to pay and have to live in shared accommodation they they pay for out of a loan from the government that will be clawed back as soon as they start earning a wage! its a shambles, and i dont think any of the parties have the balls to fix it as it would alienate too many of the voters because they cant be seen to be upsetting the poor jobless people and helping the middle class get educated and live a non-state-dependant lifestyle as thats classed as elitist!
  23. Same reason as me. my Granddad bought me my first bike for my 10th birthday... we stripped it that and many other bikes together. Happy memories... just wish we'd had more time together. I'd give up everything i own for the chance to do just one epic ride out with him

a Tory/UKIP coalition would work well. Tory could carry on as they are, but use the "matter of fact, no nonsense" UKIP approach and blame UKIP for it. The Tories, although doing a good job of fixing Labour's mess, are still too soft in many areas.
