The more secure you make it look, the more it looks like you're hiding something worth nicking! Stealth is your best weapon. Keep the bike out of sight and as the post above says, be vigilent of people following or taking interest. I have a host of security measures but nothing visible that makes my garage look unusually secure...And I live is a very low risk area - I'm just paranoid lol!

Hey that came round quickly! Really sorry i couldnt make it, ive got so much stuff going on at home right now with my building project - my house is like an episode of cowboy builders!! The latest problem is that my brand new roof laid by (supposedly) the best roofer in town now needs to be stripped off an redone as he used the wrong tiles for the shallow pitch... Thats this weeks fun and games!! My building project that started in October last year and that was supposed to take six to ten weeks is still going and stopping me coming on biking tours. The law suit against my original builder will reflect this missed trip...

I get a letter almost monthly advising that I can trasfer credit at no charge. zero percent with no transfer fee?? got any examples?? i'd snap that up right away and put it into a high interest investment!

Dangerous overtakes and trying to cut your way back through the pack are the problems. Like Fozz, im cautious about blasting my way back up the pack as it could easily unsettle another rider or cause them to attempt a dangerous manoeuvre that they otherwise wouldnt try. I very rarely follow anyone in an overtake unless i can see its totally clear to do so. I'd rather hold back, let them get past, then catch them up. Nik was keeping up really well, only losing us on some of the faster sections, but the 'caterpillar' system works well, so Fozz would have been fine so long as his tyre held out! (we've seen a tyre plug blow at xxx mph havent we phil ) Next time if we have such a great turn out, we could have two groups from the start.

unless he's not planning to insure it himself, and when he has an accident, it will be your insurance that has to pay out... you need a clean break - you sold it so don't keep insurance running. if you do want to ride it, get fully comp on your next policy so you can ride any other (insured) bike.

If they cant break in, they'll just set it on fire just lining with 12mm ply would make it difficult enough to get in though the sides/roof, dont think you need steel mesh! get a good alarm so it makes loads of noise if anyone tries to get in.

we wont lose you, the group sticks together and keeps an eye on the riders in front as well as behind... if you drop back, we do too.. its a great way to see some random countryside!

Im booked up to do a track day in May. the FAQ on the MSV website it states: "Full one piece leathers or two piece leathers that zip all the way round." I have and RST pro series leather jacket with RST razor leather trousers. they zip together, but the zip doesnt quite go all the way round, its probably about 3/4 of the way round. Will this be sufficient? has anyone else done track days with a similar zip configuration? Or should i be looking to buy a cheap 2nd hand 1 piece suite?? (ironically a cheap 1 piece suit is likely to not be as good as my RST pro series )

Do you nod to bikers on the other side of a motorway? Seems many dont nod back Also, when passing another bike, I always give them a wave.

Hidden camera. The Möbius camera I use on my bike can be setup to activate when it detects movement. Ideal for this type of job. Plus a mousetrap in the pocket and you have a comedy video

If you go on eBay, watch out for the scams. People advertise cards as "upgraded to 128gb" then you read the details and they say "somewhere between 8 and 128gb"... In other words you're gonna get an 8gb card...

Today I discovered a previously undiscovered bike clothing shop close to my house so took my two year old daughter for the ride in the car. I was in there for at least 15mins browsing, and only when I walked towards the door to leave did anyone speak to me and ask if I needed assistance. Ive had this a few times at other stores. I dont know if it's because I had a toddler with me, or because I wasn't wearing biking gear.. Considering going back on my bike to see if it makes a difference??
