  1. Hooks make it a bit easier and feels a lot safer IMO.
  2. Great rideout guys.nice to meet you all. Hope everyone got home OK, and we must do it again soon.. Also, for the guys at the end, the spirited lap of the town was good. Next time we can try some more twisty roads
  3. Kids party overran a bit so I might be a few mins late!! Bright sunshine here in sevenoaks - should be a nice rideout
  4. All are welcome! as Mooo says, its gonna be Epic! Plenty of nice places to stop along the way - we'll pass through some nice villages, and ride some great roads. It's not likely to be a crazy fast ride, and since i'm familiar with the roads round there, i'm happy to stick at the back to mop up any stragglers. I'll get the camera(s) charged up so we get some footage of "the gang"..
  5. Good stuff! hope my battery isnt flat again like it was last week! i'll bung it on the charger just in case I have a kids birthday party to attend in the morning, so i might turn up covered in cake and icecream
  6. Worth a punt.. Can always send it back. And Dont listen to anyone who says you can't, because distance sellers regulation does not exclude helmets!
  7. shall we move it to sunday instead?? viewtopic.php?f=3&t=54287
  8. So Phil, youre planning to put the route into your phone and lead the way? I know the roads round there, but i'm crap at leading (too tempted to zoom off!) so i'll bring up the back to ensure we all stick together...
  9. the more the merrier!! tag along!!
  10. better than trainers, not as good as biking boots..
  11. is there really another wedding on, or is that cut and paste from this years thread?
  12. Good lad!! every MAN needs a compressor - even if there inst any real justification for having one...

    oil change query

if youre buying a used bike and you dont know its history, i reckon a flushout's not a bad idea. Make sure you get all the flush stuff out though else, as stu says, it would thin the oil.
  14. seems to be a lot of people stripping threads with torque wrenches lately...
  15. think you might be better off staying on the A12 to the M25. no messing about with the A130

    oil change query

good question! some people do, others dont... I used engine flush on my GSXR with no problems, but ive heard others say it did cause them problems... alternative is to flush with some cheaper oil first.
  17. Whaaaaat =D I was gonna take this route https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Colch ... !3e0?hl=en coming south, the tunnel is a bridge!
  18. 1h19m on Google maps (Colchester to Sevenoaks) but if Megawatt's not coming (he lives way down south) and me not 100% certain yet, it might make sense to keep the route further north a bit...? roads arent so good though. Also, why not meet up with Phil somewhere in East London and ride down with him?
  19. There is an art to getting permission for a ride out. The secret is timing. I need to wait long enough for her to have forgotten i was out all afternoon Sunday, but not so long that she books something else up...
  20. Sounds like the first place was deliberately dragging it out to two days to get more cash. That's a dirty trick and they deserve to be reported.
  21. lol, thats what we thought last time and they all bailed!! wheres Glorian?? maybe he'll make it this time?
  22. A264 to A228 then onto Seven Mile Lane - thats roads like a roller coaster - pull some real g-force in the big dips! Yes, i think you mentioned the ZXR service when we met up... im actually not sure if i can make it yet - need to arrange a pass from the mrs..
  23. Something like this: Clicky Here Start at the 7diner, head west along the A25 - some nice villages to see with some faster sections, Down the A22 - stop off at the Motorbike Centre and perv over some bikes, Head East cross country through some crazy back roads. quite twisty, with mud and poo on the roads to spice things up a bit Finally cross over the A21, up River Hill with the nice grippy uphill chicane after the roundabout, before stopping off at the White Hart to discuss the ride. EDIT: maybe adjust the route to travel further south for Megawatt - doubt he'll want to come all the way up north...
  24. You could change the start location to the "Hotel 7 Diner" its a cool biker friendly American style diner on the A224 http://www.7hoteldiner.co.uk/diner/home-diner.aspx http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Travel/Late_offers/pictures/2010/9/21/1285065359546/7-Hotel--Diner-006.jpg End location, the White Hart on the A225 (where we stopped off last time) - its a nice biker friendly pub.
