Should be OK with a leatherman I don't think it's a locking blade. Good multitools! Leatherman wave. It has a locking blade and a locking saw. I'm going down for life!! Haha

Stupid nanny state going after the wrong people for easy convictions as always. I've got a leatherman multi tool in the door pocket of my car. I guess I'll be having a holiday at her majesty's expense if the cops find that!!

Take a pair of scissors and offer to cut out the page with the previous owners details on.

Take a look at nissan pathfinders if you want space.. Don’t they suffer the same chassis snapping issues as the Navara can?. You're less likely to load a pathfinder up with the same weight as a Navara due to the 7 seats instead of a pickup bed.

Same. Gonna fit some L-plates because I'm sure I've forgotten how to ride!!

How often do the bulbs blow?? Cut the wires solder directly to the bulb..

Photos?? Might just have been from the previous owners garage!

I rented a Tucson when I was in Canada a couple of years ago. It was a great car! Not small by UK standards but tiny next to the huge yank pickups!!

Another one is people who add "at this present time" on the end of a sentence. It's valid sometimes but most of the time it's a pointless redundant thing to say. For example: "we don't have that item in stock at this present time"

I would gladly pay someone a percentage of the savings if they would manage all my insurance renewals every year...

Next time, try negotiating the cost of the first service into the purchase price. And what main dealer wouldn't have a fault code reader??

Tangent: The courier who collects from my work told us of a Christmas temp worker who (many years ago) was getting shafted, being forced to work long hours, not getting paid delivery bonuses.. the usual. So he took the delivery van to an underground M&S car park where he left the window open a centimetre to throw the keys back in it after locking and walked off. The underground nature of the car park meant the GPS tracker was useless and it took them 2 months to locate it hope he topped the Diesel tank up with petrol too

I heard a story a few years back about a bloke who's disabled son tried to help clear the snow off the car. He was very proud of what he'd accomplished, but he'd used the garden rake... Cost him a full respray!! Haha

Arguably :- why pay a cack handed monkey : frankly that's what some dealers are and at £70+vat an hour : to do when you can do it yourself .. unless its conspicuous consumption .. and there will always be supply where there is demand .. that's where i will buy from .. using my van again if necessary .. i fail to see the point in subsidising an uneconomical business .. not at my expense anyway.. Whilst my bike was under warranty i used the main dealer and just accepted it as the cost of owning my bike. Now my bike is out of warranty I do all my own services and more frequently than the dealer service schedule but that's because I enjoy tinkering about and like to fully understand what I'm riding not because I resent paying the dealership. I had to pay a few hundred quid to buy special tools and bought a new laptop for the garage as didn't want to get any of my laptops covered in oil so probably would have been cheaper to get the main dealer to service my bike...

when they charge £150 for a basic service ie oil & filter .. £300 for something a little more involved .. + air filter and £500 for the valve clearance service .. add that up and compare the difference saved by using a non main dealer or doin it yourself .. your into pocket come selling time .. even with the added loss of no dealer service record ... Arguably if you can't afford the running costs you can't afford the bike. As the old saying goes, "Champagne lifestyle on beer money" If you don't pay the dealers they make no money and close down, so where do you buy your next bike from??

I had to drive Sevenoaks to Southampton on Friday evening. Everyone was telling me I was crazy and shouldnt go but I tanked up the Audi, checked the tyres, filled up the washer bottle and I was off into the unknown!! I had a bag of snacks from the petrol station and my winter biking gear with me incase I had to abandon ship.. The M3 was blocked by jacknifed trucks and the A31 was totally clear until just south of Alton where it was blocked with people not able to get up a very slight incline without wheelspinnig all over the place. Very frustrating for me as I've got 4x4 Audi on snow tyres so was perfectly happy driving past people who were sliding about on their summer tyres. I really haven't found a snow covered hill that car can't climb..

What's becomingly difficult is that manufacturers are adding procedures to services that only manufacturers can do. So like software updates etc. You're perfectly entitled to do oil changes and filter changes anywhere you like so long as correct parts are used but if the service schedule includes something requiring specialists equipment like a software update to the ECU for example that's only going to be possible at a dealership and so by not taking it to a dealer it can be argued the service hasn't been completed correctly.... Brand new bike? You've already wasted a large chunk of cash on deprecation so a few hundred quid on main dealer servicing makes little difference but will be benefited when you come to sell.

This or a audi a4 avant Get the 1.9tdi pd motor and it will go forever! I know of one with over 400k on the clocks so don't worry about high mileage Mate if mine has a A4 Avant with over 300k miles and it's still going strong. My Audi A6 Avant has done over 110k now and still going strong. 3.0litre engine is nice and powerful and Quattro 4x4 with snow tyres is unstoppable.

My old VW Passat estate was brilliant! I bought it to carry my rescue rottweiler about which it managed perfectly. And it towed my bike trailer.

I second the nest, as I have one and it's great. I thought it was cheeky they wanted £45 to wire it in. Only took 10 minutes as it was only 2 wires Yeah it was dead easy to wire in but I reckon most people are scared of taking the panels off their combi boiler! I've got mine on the wall in my hallway. There's a coat cupboard the otherside of the wall which also houses my router and network switch so it was easy to drill through the wall to get the usb power to the wall mounted dial. I never did get around to painting the wall behind!! Lol

you could use it as a safe way to ensure you get paid. Say you're selling the bike for 8k with 6k outstanding finance. you take a 2k deposit as bank transfer. you then get the buyer to contact the finance company to settle the 6k outstanding finance. Finance company confirm the payment, you confirm the deposit arrived in your bank and hand over the documents. buyer is happy the finances is cleared, youre happy the finance is cleared and you get the extra cash in your bank account. no risk of fake notes or dodgy bank transfers and being left out of pocket.

No bonus? Told to find another job? Forced to pay extortionate fuel prices for a company vehicle?? Sounds like they've been trying to push you out... If theres nothing in writing you're fine and they won't want a tribunal case brought against them for mistreatment.. Park the company van in the most expensive carpark you can find, drain the fuel and lock the keys inside. (don't do that as tempting as it is)

If it was only firing on one cylinder the AA bloke would have picked it up right away and said something. Also it would be running like a dog.. don't return to that local garage ever again!!

GFV is a terrible name for what's essentially the amount you need to pay off to own the bike at the end of the contract. People get confused and think "oh wow look how high the guaranteed future value is" when really they should be saying "oh wow I paid a deposit plus all those monthly payments and look how high the final payment is". Many think PCP will be the next PPI style misselling scandal as many are missold PCP deals without fully understanding how they work.
