Joining ship tomorrow afternoon but right now I'm heading off for a joint I know that does Belgian beer and proper satay here in Singapore. Two of my favourite things in one place. Limit myself to only 2 beers though as I'm officially working from tomorrow.

Mrs. Fiddlesticks and I have just returned from our local pub 20 something miles away where we (well, mostly her) played two hours of acoustic stuff for the regulars. - eg. Pearl Jam, Counting Crows, Cranberries, Foo Fighters, First Aid Kit, as well as a few originals. Seemed to go down well.

Nice to see some old friends who made the trip from near Ingleton.

Trying to teach my son to move from his balance bike to a proper bike. His new bikes so cool, hydrolic disc's, solid AF for a kids first bike, I've had a few rides and it'll not be falling apart any time this century

At the moment I am viewing this weekend lost to a monumental hangover.....

Missus.. Ooh I forgot to put your supper in the air fryer. Do you want another while you wait?  Of course a movie was started and the "another" turned into "another" and hence one more.  Then it transpired that my supper had gone cold and needed warming up..... Lets have another while we wait...

More decorating, followed by a ride over to Doncaster on Sunday to wish our nephew a happy birthday.

Someone involved in this mega cleaning operation would appear to have been a very naughty boy. They've been telling porkies and trying to do it on the super cheap and not surprisingly the whole house of cards came crashing down today. All the so-called labour were kicked off today and there was a lot of thrashing around trying to come up with some magic fix which won't work.  We are now on hold while big bosses try and decide what we do but it currently looks as if we will be shifting from here and ultimately going to the UAE to do the job properly which is what we should have done in the first place. Be warm though.

Empty the shed, sweep it out, apply sealant on the floor, laying the rubber flooring and putting everything back. Should only take about 5 months to complete 😂

It gets better. We or at least the ship is officially under arrest and we can't go anywhere until the matter is resolved.

Politics and a $100,000 bond probably has more to do with it than anything else.

Not such a drinker these days, but I do have my moments. The insulation is a work in progress and will have some OSB fitted once each side is completed. Not bad only taking 2 hours includeing all the cutting down to flush against the sides. 4 full tiles over which are under the sunn day bike, then a few offcuts used for the daily.

Right now I'm sitting in an office somewhere in Malaysia while the ship's agent negotiates with the Coast Guard. Quite why my presence is required is beyond me as the entire conversation is going on in Malay. Still at least I have a decent view over a river with what seems like a family of sea otters disporting themselves.

Well this week was my opportunity to claw back some Challenge 2024 points - had a load of routes planned out, some two days, others three. One particularly fun one taking in Hardknott Pass.

Best laid plans, and all that.

Instead, a full week of painting, decorating, fitting skirtings, cleaning, pressure washing and finally replacing alarm sensors. Managed to blow two fuses in the main unit, and the only short notice replacements were via a trade pack of about a million from YESS. Still cheaper than an alarm engineer.

New to me wide-angle APSC lense arrived yesterday, so lots of photos of Fiddlesticks Towers taken for Purplebricks.

Finally today managed to get out on the bike. First to the Ponderosa, then Lake  Vyrnwy Dam (not my picture).

Back home via the Tap where they've built a new stage in the garden and a blues rock three-piece are shredding it.

My advanced course starts next week, so chances of catching up on Challenge 2024 are slim. Ach well, there's always next year.

Last minute tagging trip from Coventry to Newquay Cornwall, 10 hours yesterday ( included 1/2 hour lunch break at Beer & 2 fuel stops ), the satnav took me down some really ‘interesting’ Ianes, at one point the ‘road’ was a very narrow, single track with high banks, over hanging hedges and trees, broken edges, a high mound of mud and gravel in the centre, very steep down hill, very twisty hairpins and into a ford full of rocks, I was sh*tting my self, fcuk knows what would have happened if I’d met someone coming the other way, I was knackered.

4 local tags today about 3.5 hours.

Looks like the 8 hour trip home tomorrow will be wet, never mind hey 🥺
