This weekend we are in Abidjan where I'm due to change more than half the crew and officers. Company are moaning about the cost but are sucking it up anyway.

So they do, done it myself on a 10m boat. Bit difficult on one of these although a well known Danish company did operate with a crew of 13. However they did no maintenance at all purely operated it to get from A to B and eventually it ended in tears.

I will be mostly working…. 30 hours between Friday 1600 and Monday 0630…

Crew of 21 including me. This is about average some have a few more some may have a couple less. Plus I have a cadet (trainee).

You might think that Mrs Mickly seems very benevolent not complaining about me going biking 2 days in a row, but I’m not falling for it … It’s our ( well hers ) Grand daughters 16th birthday party next weekend & the party is being held in our garden, so I’m absolutely being set up for a very expensive & stressful time while having to grin & bear it, although I have managed to get a concession …. But wait ….  I’ve managed to negotiate another benefit based upon my unquestioning obedience over the event ….. A weekend away at Moto Junkies with the West Midlands TRF the weekend after, … I think this is about as far as I can stretch it

Probably gonna pay sometime down the road but hey

Good luck, been there, try to avoid silly hours now, a combination of getting old and more sensible, I understand the needs must though.

Changing out some crew tomorrow, should have been more but office screwed the pooch. Got provisions today which means at least we have coffee again. Sadly the supplier hadn't sussed that leaving chocolate exposed to 30 C temperatures is generally not a good idea. Refused to pay for it. Stuff was delivered by pirogue which is basically a large canoe with an outboard. Definitely 3rd World here.
