When i was in the police for a few years we often pulled people for that, Part of our PDP haha. The ones who were nice got told and then on their way. The rude ones, Not so much ;)

Just dropping everything a second to say... WHAT!? You were a rozzer? How has this only come to light now? Or have I missed this the whole time.

You let the nice ones go!?!

They could have been nice so you let them go. They'd be calling you a sucker around the corner

Especially those old dears that "accidentally" put it on... Crafty buggers!

Hah only for a couple years, Hated it due to all the crap from people, Was quite a hostile work enviroment at times.

Might have been just an act but as long as they're not going along the lines of "Ah ya f**kin' copper ain't you got anything better to do" in which case, Time for a full vehicle search :D. I've only been ever pulled once and i was speeding at 36 in a 30. Cop pulled me, breathalysed me (saturday night) and said thank you for your time, slow it down a little. and sent me off.

Did you not get out of your probation then? Trust me it gets better the longer your in and the more courses you get under your belt, especially on response teams.

But, the job certainly isn't what it once was.

Foz to be fair to Glorian I'm the same. There's only a very few traffic offences I'd not let slide on the first occasion (mobile phones/insurance etc). I find its always better to warn first if they have a decent attitude. I'd rather treat people how I'd like to be treated, fairly. I've been given a bit of a touch before and was thankful for that.

I didn't, really unreliable sergeant and other senior officers made going out and actually completing the stuff i needed impossible. In the end i'd had enough, The shifts were awful as well. Got myself a nice office job ^^

With you on the shifts mate, they kill me.

I've never seen such low morale in the job before. People leaving in droves.

Not like anyone above cares. Hundreds of people willing to join instead :S

Fair play to you chaps.

It's a job that would turn me bitter as you are exposed to the worst in society at times.

I have been pulled over a fair few times, back on the old 50 a number of them mistook it for a 125 and it was a trick a lot of 16 year olds got away with anyway.

The only time I got smart was when one pulled me over for a tinted visor (it was flipped up as I was riding home) and he put it down and asked how I could see. I flipped it up and sarcastically said "night vision" and earned myself a £30 fine... Deserved but he was being petty from my viewpoint.

I don't like the met police, seen my fair share of them being a bit brash. I get they see more crap than others being in London but it has tarnished their outlook a bit. I've even heard of other police forces acting like Christmas came early when they catch one out doing something wrong.

Still get some blue eyed boys who think they have to be right all the time. Personally i'd have just said you really should have a clear visor, But i wouldn't have fined you for that.. Lot of ego when i was about :D

If you'd given me lip I would have fined you

If I got told "you really should have a clear visor" I'd have apologised and said I had it up to see fine, like I would with a fogged up visor.

Instead I got a sarcastic Jimmy Saville style "now then now then now then". A bit of piss taking I wouldn't blink an eye, but he started off on a bad note and then got more condescending as I was young. He was being provocative I think and it worked. It wouldn't now, I'd at most chip in a little comment like "I appreciate your unbiased view officer". As then he has a choice, laugh it off, or have a go at me and I'll apologise and be polite but say that I have my view much like he has his...

I'm going to get fined again aren't I?

We need a NOTY (year) award... Each year we put forward a story of a nob, and the winner gets some kind of award.

I'll be putting petrolhead forward, as I feel I can win just mentioning his name

Very true - my brother is dead set on joining. I've told him about the crushing and frustrating amount of paperwork, the pointlessness of attending another domestic at the same address and the other bits and bobs but he's still mustard keen on it.

In all honesty, I did briefly consider re-joining last night in the light of my upcoming redundancy because there were some top times. :-)

The nob of the day, well more last night is the person who poured paint stripper on the side of a relatives car which I had borrowed and was parked over night outside the house. I would have preferred it if our car had been done instead. No one else had their car touched, so why me!!!!!!!

Beggars belief what some people will do. Is it a decent car? Perhaps sheer bloody-minded jealousy?

My NOTD goes to the dunce in the BMW who suddenly swung out to overtake right in front of me as I was about to overtake him and the two cars in front of him. Then he clocked me in his rear view mirror and tried the funny old trick of flooring it to try and stop me from getting past him, once he'd overtaken the two cars. Didn't work. I hope he enjoyed the gesture I made as I went past. Actually, I hope it pissed him off.

The man who just cut me up. I am considering no riding in the dark but thinking about it, I don't think it would've made a difference here. If he isn't going to look he isn't going to look. I can't win, a collision is imminent.

Don't let the buggers get you down! Just make sure you do their thinking for them if at all possible.

I try, but sometimes they are too stupid to predict.

Twat in the 4x4 with the trailer who nearly caused a head on crash with me this morning.

Driving the opposite way there is a van parked on the road with hazards on. It was dark. 4x4 thinks it can race through before i get there (err f**king no) realises his error and slams on the brakes causing that horrible screeching sound and my relatively relaxed heartbeat to spike. If i had a pace maker i think i'd have died lol.

Nominating the idiot in a cage on my way to work - I'm doing about 55 along the road from Cambridge to Horningsea, just coming up to the village when some impatient peenarse who is still inside the speed limits of the village decides to overtake the car in front. Car in front starts to gather speed as he's now leaving the village, impatient dick continues to attempt to overtake and gathers more speed. I now have a car coming towards me in my lane at about 50mph, barely any distance between us, and because the silly peenarse has his beams AND his fog lights on, I'm too blinded to even see where the kerb is so that I can avoid hitting it while attempting to get as far out of his way as I can. Thankfully managed to guess it well enough.

Everyone who refuses to log off our order/stock control system at work who is forcing me to forcibly log them off!!

It is fun though and im sure i'm annoying people so there is a silver lining. But seriously, "I dont want to log off i won't get back on" Well.. if EVERYONE logged off when its not in use there would be no issues!!

I hate people.
