hadster Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 HAVE YOU EVER WISHED THERE WAS A SIMPLER WAY TO OWN THE MOTORBIKE OF YOUR DREAMS?I hope this is ok with admin, please advise otherwise.Have you ever wished for a simpler way to own the motorbike of your dreams, I know I have. Hours and hours spent looking through various web sites and drooling over motorcycles that only a loan or lotto win in reality will get you the dream machine. There is now a solution. Its very simple and gives everyone an opportunity to sell their motorcycle for the price they want without spending a fortune on advertisement, only for countless time wasters and tyre kickers offering you an insulting price to part with the love of your life. Now its a simple £2.99 which is only chargeable so that admin can carry out a HPI on the motorcycle. The reason for admin doing this is that every motorcycle sold on the raffle has to be legit, no bikes will be raffled without a clear HPI check. The group wants to give people the opportunity to buy the bike of their dreams not their nightmares.£2.99 must be paid into a paypal account, the check will be carried out and once confirmed clear will be entered into the raffle draw. For the potential buyer you can then purchase a raffle ticket/s. 49 tickets are available for each motorcycle, the value of each raffle ticket is the price of the motorcycle (for example £3000) divided by 49 (3000/49= £61.22) once you have paid your £61.22 you will receive a number (payment will go to the sellers paypal account) which will be displayed in their advert.once all 49 raffle tickets are sold, the draw will be on the following Saturday night. The draw is the uk national lotto. The winning raffle ticket will be the bonus ball. The buyer who has the matching raffle ticket to the Saturday night bonus ball is then the winner of the £3000 pound bike of their dreams for a mere £61.22, the buyer and seller will the need to communicate in order to arrange collection of the motorcycle. The raffle will be for road bikes only, their are other successful raffle sites for off road vehicle, you can purchase as many raffle tickets per motorcycle as you wish (49 per item) and sit back, watch the lotto draw and hope your number drops out as the bonus. Really simple, really easy and really cheap! Join the group, keep your eyes open for the chance of a life time and then get yourself a ticket to enter the raffle draw, you could very well be walking away with a superbike for 1/49th of its value. Sellers advertise your bikes, get the asking price and watch the joy over a fellow motorcyclist face as they win the dream bike. Hope to see some big smiles very soon, share this post with all your motorcycle buddies, lets get more people on the road, in communities and getting the bikes they always wanted. Enjoyhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/130983053905989/ Quote
Steve D Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 What happens if not all 49 tickets are sold? How long before you get your money back. I can see that some unscrupulous people could put their bike up and sit on 48 49ths of the bike price. Or just spend it. Is it covered by the PayPal money back guarantee? What if the bike is a duffer? Does the owner have to register as a gaming company? So many pitfalls. Quote
hadster Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 all rafflers are covered by paypal, Admin is strict on bikes being raffled to prevent issues, please see link for another very successful raffle group with 49k very happy membershttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mxonlya ... age_bubble Quote
rennie Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I'm not sure about this! You probably should have asked first!I'll have a chat with admin/other mods.see what they think.I'm going to lock it temporarily. Quote
rennie Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 ok we'll let it run!TMBF does not endorse or recommend this in any way! Quote
Joeman Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 It could work out a very expensive way to buy a bike!1/49 is long odds. Better to take the money to the casino and place it all on a single number.. Quote
RantMachine Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 This stinks of a scam even worse than Charles Ponzi's gooch Just think about it... they stick an ad on eBay for your bike (similar to a "theft to order"), and while they wait for a buyer they tell you they're waiting for all 49 tickets to sell. All the while, they make a good few bob selling tickets to legit people, but pretty safely knowing that you aren't going to get 49 people who all want that bike and all think this sounds like a good idea. Once the bike sells on eBay, they use a fake account to enter the raffle on behalf of the eBay buyer, and use a number of other fake accounts to buy the remaining tickets. Then they rig the raffle so that the eBay buyer wins, and they deliver his bike. Maybe make a post with the fake profile saying how great the new bike is.Any legit tickets sold are profit. The difference between the value of the remaining tickets and the value of the eBay sale is all profit. And they haven't committed a theft, so the police aren't looking for the bike. In fact, they even have the keys and the logbook. All legit, apart from the fake raffle. And because the buyer is always a legit eBay buyer, the winners are all over the country and therefore it never looks suspicious. If the bike doesn't shift on eBay for the price they want to get for it? Just keep selling tickets and run this raffle for real, to get some genuine positive feedback on the Facebook page. The guy that genuinely wins a new bike goes and tells all his mates, and BAM, more punters/mugs.Nice little side earner with almost no risk of legal repercussions. I would never trust a blind raffle, whatever the odds on a favourable outcome might seem to be.Unless it's you running this Hadster, in which case... dude, this seriously looks like a scam from the outside Quote
Steve D Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 It's not a blind raffle.Whilst I have my concerns over certain aspects of this, the only thing that is fair is that as tickets are sold and numbers are allocated, no-one but no-one can predict the number of the bonus ball drawn on the Lotto the first Saturday after the final ticket has been sold and allocated so the draw cannot be rigged. Invisible_Man Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Sod that. Yes they'll be a small chance you'll win but whos to say how many raffles it will take? 30? 40? 100?I'd rather save £61 a month and buy the bike myself. Yes it'll take longer but the odds would be in my favour! IM Quote

Yes it'll take longer but the odds would be in my favour! IM I'm the same, also I really loathe the constant gambling ads on tv clearly targetting moms at home who just hear the ' 4 million in prizes a day' well, that means there is at least 4 million lost by folks a day. One of my 1st jobs was a tote mechanic at the local grey hound track, the only folks driving new cars were the owners ! Quote
hadster Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 A friend of mine collect his bike tonight from the Mx group, cost him 60 quid. Its a punt for sure, as i mentioned could save 60 quid a month until you can buy it outright. My friend and I thought others may like the chance to do the same so set up the group. No scam I assure you, bikes advertised will be vetted as best possible hence the mandatory £2.99 for HPI carried out by admin. It is a gamble same as doing the lotto itself, 49-1 chance is quite low in the grand scheme of it. Its any ones choice, when a 1299 panigale comes on then i have a choice if i want to take a punt and hope the bonus ball matches my raffle ticket. No body is pressured to join but someone may want a used Bike that is 3k and think bugger it, for 60 quid i'll give it a shot. It will only work with numbers, the Mx site has 49k members so tickets sell very quickly. I'll let you know after 5 pm tonight when my mate picks up his 60 quid 2011 kxf crosser, i know he's chuffed! Even if its a sack of shit he isn't worried as it only cost 60 quid. I'm sure some will try to abuse it, we will endeavor to do our very best to ensure the buyer and seller get the best from it. Its a new idea and want to see if its a goer Quote
Joeman Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Everyone is understandably sceptical as if something sounds too good to be true, it generally is.How do the organisers make any money? Quote
Steve D Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 My dad told me once that if I was thinking of gambling, go into any bookies, casino or greyhound track and count the number of people that are employed to take money. Then count the number of people that are employed pay out money. Quote

Then count the number of people that are employed pay out money. Or just go in to any bookies, casino or greyhound track and look at the bleak desperation in the eyes of the hardened gambler as they place the children's dinner money on "the one" that'll bring home the goods. Then lose. fullscreenaging Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 It could work out a very expensive way to buy a bike!1/49 is long odds. Better to take the money to the casino and place it all on a single number.. Yep. Single number on Roulette is 35:1 which is the best odds in a Casino Quote
hadster Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 not put it together as a money spinner, my mate had a stroke of luck winning his crosser for 60 quid ( he picked it up today and its a bloody beast), he is into rode bikes first and foremost and hasn't seen it available so decided to put a group together. People get the price they want for their bikes, others take a gamble on the raffle to see if they can win it. its all for a bit of fun. If people join and watch how or if it develops then great, as my mate has done won a 2011 kawasaki crosser for 60 quid. 1 in 49 people will be lucky, the others not. Some people like a punt, others not so much. I'm of the latter, not really a gambler, but if a 1299 s comes up, then i may have a go. I understand the cautious views, i totally agree. Feel free to have a look, its like any FB page, just see what happens, no need to enter if you don't wish. If your looking to sell your bike, its an option. £2.99 and get the price its worthhttps://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... hoto_reply Quote
Joeman Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 If a Ducati 1299 came up, that's about £340 per ticket - and youre not a gambling man!?? LOLIf it all works and nobody tries to rip anyone off, it a nice bit of fun, just very expensive if you try a few times and not win.Easy way to make some cash too. Buy a bike for 60quid, and you already know there are at least 48 other people out there prepared to buy it, so put it right back on the site and sell it for full price! Ca-Ching!Shame its only on Facebook.. i dont do facebook, otherwise i'd be tempted to have a punt. Quote
NearOn Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 The link doesn't seem to be working to the Facebook group? That can't be a good sign so soon into this scheme. Surely someone running it is getting money out of it? Quote
hadster Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Link works for me when i click it, 340 is a big punt, i'd have to be flush at the time lolIt will only work if it has members, adjustments will be made to it to improve as it goes along, as many say, its for a bit of fun, doubt many panigale's will come along, my point being on other successful raffles bikes come up and for a 60 quid ticket if your lucky enough to be a winner its great. Feel free to join the group and watch and see if it develops. Quote

Grumpy Old Git Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So... for £60 a time and no real chance of winning (I've had a National Savings Certificate since 1953 and never won a thing!), after 10 years, I would have spent over £30K. I could have just bought a Rocket III on HP for less! Quote
