Yes you can, you can pay an extra premium to take out cover for the helmet and leathers / riding gear, it was a bit costly when I looked at it ...... in hindsight though ...... not half as costly as new helmet Quote
bonio Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 I've gone for the Shoie GT air.Cracking helmet. Oh, no, I didn't mean that it's cracking, like really cracking. Just cracking like cracking good. Quote

But in the long run any kind of claim tends to bump up the ransom, sorry, I mean premium. So you probably haven't really lost out. Quote

Helmet/leathers insurance is different policy to the bike insurance so shouldn't effect bike insurance policy.Home insurance might also cover your helmet, but a claim on home insurance would increase your home insurance premium.. fastbob Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Ordered a new helmet from the guys at SBS (1st rate shop by the way) i've gone for the Shoie GT air, looks like it will serve my purposes very nicely, will give an update when it arrives. I've got one, great helmet. My only complaint is that the sunvisor doesn't come down far enough so riding along with the main visor open and the sun visor down, I get an annoying breeze in my eyes. My old helmet had a longer sun visor so I didn't have that problem Ha! Same complaint with my Shark Vision. Quote

fastbob Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Ah yes , I remember air helmets . Cheap too , A £30 fine and a telling off as I recall. Not very warm in the winter though . Quote
manxie49 Posted January 17, 2018 Author Posted January 17, 2018 New helmet arrived really fast delivery from SBS as always, well impressed, got to be one of the best helmets I've had, really comfortable and a great fit, will review it after I've been out on the bike for a spin to see what its like when in use Quote
