Hard panniers

I've ordered my royal Enfield himalayan for delivery the end of march. I'm mulling over whether to purchase the hard panniers too. They are supplied for £500 seems reasonable. As its a new model I'm struggling to find after market stuff any thoughts?

Matching panniers are a good idea. Less hassle and more value when you sell the bike.,

I think it's gonna be the best option the pannier racks come with it and 37l each seems a good size too

Only issue i have with them is their width.. and how far they stand proud from the bike.

You wouldn't want to be filtering with those on.

I imagine that without the panniers on and only the rack it'd look a bit strange.

You could get mirror extenders and put them to the same width as the bike with the panniers. If you cannot get through a gap with the mirrors, you are less likely to try and clobber the panniers.

The mirror extenders will be a great idea I'll take a look on line to find some. Thankfully most my riding is open road when I have to encounter Birmingham City centre it's out of rush hour so not too much filtering

I hate filtering behind guys with these on.

Out of principle they wont effing move out of the way end end up with a queue of 15 odd bikes behind.

It more out of necessity than anything I have a lot of kit to take to work they seem East enough to. Take off when I don't need them

Been to get a set of the RE panniers put on one side for the arrival of my bike. They had some on the bike in the shop, I liked them, they detach v quickly and don't extend beyond the width of the handlebars. Most the pics online were from India with different racks. Will store all my crap in for some long tours and trips to work!
