Quick question guys ... selling the old car (2009 Insignia diesel) for a few quid and sods law a bloody warning light has come on but I can't find it in any manual or search on net.

It is an open book with an exclamation mark on the right hand side. Does anyone know what this is?

Try "google"

I think it means consult the handbook, but usually there is another warning light as well.

Could be dueofra service if no other lights on.

I bought one of those cheap OBD readers from Amazon a few years back and it's been super handy for random dash lights - reading and resetting them.

Might be worth a punt for 20-odd wingwangs.

Usually that kind of signal would come on with either an error code or another signal.

its effectively saying.. there is a problem and the fix is in the owners manual. so, you are doing something wrong and RTFM to fix it.

or there is a fault.. and here is the error code. look it up in the manual.

It shouldnt come on in isolation as what is the point of RTFM if it doesn't tell you what part of the FM to read.

Asked my neighbour this one, used to be a mechanic, not Vauxhall though, he said on some cars it can be a reminder to change your timing belt

go into settings , via buttons on steering wheel or end of one of one the stalks , scroll through see if info or messages comes up should explain what it's trying to tell you .
