Hi folks, I'm in the middle of sorting out a tlr I've just bought. I have removed all the fairing to get the nose cone repaired so thought I would give it a clean with some degreaser before applying acf50 ready for storage over the winter months. Now this may sound stupid but I'm not sure if I have a radiator leak but when I took the bike off the paddock stand after washing it and moved it into the garage it leaked lots of water on the bottom radiator r/h corner. I'm not sure if it's just water from washing it or if I caught the radiator while cleaning it but the water was clear and had no smell to it. I have checked the water level in reservoir bottle and it's full but when i removed the radiator pressure cap I didn't hear a hiss so I'm not sure if its water from washing or a leaking rad......any advice on how to check it? Thanks.

That's what I thought but it was clear with no smell so will try the taste test tomorrow. Thanks.

Thankfully the battery is off the bike so it's not acid😉 so maybe it's just water from washing it but it just streamed off the bottom radiator that had me thinking it was a leak but it was clear with no smell. Also would the water level drop if it was leaking or would it have to be running first to pump around the system before it dropped down? The level is ok in the reservoir tank but I've not started her up yet so will check all levels again in the morning.

After washing my bike, I leave it on the side stand and water runs from the base of the rad for ages. It’s generally water caught in the matrix that takes time to run out.

Why don't you just run the engine again once all the cleaning water has drained away or evaporated. FFS

Megawatt what do you mean ffs if you cant answer a question then maybe your best keeping your opinions to yourself mate.

Well do the obvious again then?

And the obvious thing for you to do is stop posting like a nob again! But here we are same old same old

So you can have a go at people for putting lights on their bike and call them a chav and I can't suggest that someone do the blindingly obvious?

I never had a go at him! He asked for opinions! I said it would look chavvy!

Your attitude stinks towards everyone and always belittling them for not knowing! Change it or stop posting simple!

Washed it on the side stand , water collected in the fairing , moved the bike and a bit of water fell out . Oh yeah , the bottom radiator is an oil cooler . Hardly seems worth worrying about .

It's not! They are twin rads on the TLR ;-)

The oil cooler is built in tot he oil filter housing and has coolant running through it :)

If it helps the TLS had a separate oil cooler in the style of a radiator just the same as the GSXR

@fastbob it's easy the TLS is the better one

I really wanted one at one point but I test rode a couple and just couldn't get on with them . They would accelerate like a rocket and engine brake really well but I couldn't make either of them just go along the road at a steady speed . I think this is a V Twin thing so maybe I would have got used to it . You don't see many of them now though . 🙄

They take a bit getting used to and mine wasn't happy unless it was doing north of 90!

A power commander is a must on them they make a huge difference but then the power commander was made first of all for the TL!
