Not heard of it, but I know some insurance companies have their own version.

Might be worth checking with your own insurance to see what they recommend?

Looks like following a fad just because they think they can/should, Doubt it would work well.
even after all these years they cant even get websites to allow for hardly any use cases/work/do anything properly so they have no chance with their own app for all platforms.

They'd cancel my policy on breaking force alone. I didn't put PS5 tyres on the cage for no reason.

I saw a freinds GF's app once, full telemetry etc. Fvck that.

I don't drive a twvt but I also make use of the grip available to me

Sorry to say it but most expensive/middle or high end bikes store a lot of what goes on with them and what you do, cars have been doing it for years, even little shed boxes store so much data that could incriminate you.

geo fencing, privacy monitoring you have to allow it all to be used before you can use a car (some brands are more forceful of this than others) wether you like it or not.

thanks for buying this very expensive product but you have to allow us to do away with all your rights/wants/ideals before you can use this product which is all hidden away in small print in a program you have to click yes before we will allow you to go anywhere or see the screen of how fast your going, welcome to the new age of tech and controlling.

Do you have any examles of that being used against the driver? I've yet to hear of anyone ending up shyt creek due to their vehicals telemetry

Some years ago my employer, a large insurer, considered developing such an app. A couple of guys in the “Innovation team” (!!!! 🤔) knocked up a prototype and a few of us agreed to be Guinea pigs. I had it in every time I drove the car (but not when rid8ngbthe bike). It just happened that my other half had bought me an experience day that coincided with the trial  - stunt driving near Gainsborough. Yes. I took the phone with me and had the App switched on.

It didn’t get the response I was hoping for as the guys checked location setting and realised I wasn’t on a road. Useful for them to see the data persuading the company to go a different “black box” route.

Good afternoon,

I've picked up an apprentice. Lady in the middle floor of my building lives there with her son, about 12 years old I'm guessing. Knocked on the door to say her lad has seen me working in my garage a number of times and loves bikes. Wants to do some tinkering and help me with my projects. I've agreed as I do feel bad he's not got a dad in the picture doing this sort of stuff. Hopefully encourage some young blood to get into bikes, and hit the road with mechanical sympathy!

Nice one Fozzie. Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time.

Good afternoon :classic_biggrin:

I still like fridays :cheers:maybe not as much as usual Sue's tests are ongoing! Ct scan tomorrow! They're now thinking blocked bile duct.

@Fozzie! Well done! But in today's environment be careful! Don't put yourself in a position where you could be accused of anything!

Well my muppets in Mumbai sent me an email early this morning to tell me I am going to Singapore on the 22nd after all.  I'm also on holiday with the mini orcs so I'm not able to give them all the inane paperwork they want. As I've been in the company for 20 years I think they've probably already got it. Bampots.

Seems to be a case of that, and better than the old man who caused me grief after seeing into my garage. He doesn't live here, but inherited his late mothers flat, and polices the area/causes management problems. He accused me of running some sort of illicit business out of my garage, and cited "high end motorcycles that appear suspect". I assume he thought I was peddling stolen bikes. The 1998 R1, fair enough... The £700 CBR600F, not so much.

I've had a few "apprentices" over the years. In London I helped out in the old DIY service centre where you hired a lift/bench/tools. It was so addictive I started offering to help others, and got involved with some fun projects that first timers had bought, and sought out help with, making some good friends. When I moved back up north, I bought a house next to an elderly couple, and the old boy loved bikes. In his mid-80s, he laughed he was the oldest apprentice in England, and before he died I was able to wheel him into the garage to watch me rebuild a Blackbird I'd been given for free (it was that rotten). I occasionally pop over to have a cup of tea with his wife, and sort out any broken appliances, blown bulbs etc. Will make a welcome change having a youngster learn the ropes. And I find it cool how something as trivial as working on a bike can be the catalyst it has been.

@rennie - I hadn't thought of that, and well noted. The garage door, when open is in direct line of site of the mothers flat window. And I will be pushing a strict safety protocol. Safety glasses and nitrile gloves on at all times, no loose/unsuitable clothing. And very limited access to the power tools

Also, sad to hear Sue is having a rough go of it. A blocked bile duct can be quite uncomfortable!

That's decent of you, and you'll probably have a friend for life, maybe his mother might even cook you dinner.

Back home from holibobs.

M/Bike hire in Jersey is rubbish! Best I could get for a reasonable price was a 'twist and go'. 🤢

That's a shame, it's not like it's Ayia Napa, with eejits racing around on hire bikes.

Hope you had a good time anyway.
