@Grumpy Old Git

I've actually done that, I cut a large branch which knocked me from the ladder. I fell backwards into a dry ditch, chainsaw still in my hand.

It was "pretty uncomfortable" and not something I'm proud of 😂

Was sat on the loo 20 minutes ago and thought some feckers had let fireworks off outside the window.

It was quite scary to realise that it was the power lines. We still have power though.

As they say, location is everything.

Good morning :classic_biggrin:

No damage that I can see!:classic_biggrin:

Had to rescue the bins and some solar lights from the driveway but nothing else 👍

We had wild winds early Saturday morning and fortunately I got into Bristol on Friday night.  If I'd been on the Saturday morning flights I'd still be in Glasgow. Damage wise we've had nothing and so far as I know there's been some localised flooding and a few trees down. Nothing dramatic and certainly not the Armageddon that was forecast. We even got the red alert thing to our phones. Initially thought the end of the world was nigh but as usual it wasn't.

Cover blew off the bike which is bad.., in fact I’m traumatised. The bike got rained on and continues to get rained on. I daren’t go out as it might ruin my toop. (And that would never do)

if the rain stops I might give it a wash (the bike - not my toop) as it’s had a thorough pre-rinse. Silver linings and that.

@Gerontious

There's nothing for it, but to buy a new bike.....

A thorough pre-rinse is useful, and I've even washed a car whilst raining, great results were had, and just a leathering to dry when the rain stops.

We lost a few slates off the roof. The front gates were demolished along with one of the garden gates. A very large beech tree came down opposite but fortunately fell away from the house.

I had lunch today with a chap who spent much of the time moaning about the current government and lamenting the budget changes. His main theme was that as a working man he didn't feel better off as a result.

At the end I followed him out. I got into my 2010 Astra with 116,000 on the clock.

He climbed into his helicopter and took off.

My morning appointments were cancelled today which gave me chance to chop up the broken gates (very large) from the weekend, and vacuum up the leaves which had piled up. So I've had a cracking bonfire instead of doing any work.

This weekend I'm starting Xmas 😁 being forced into more corporate hospitality on match day sat, then back out on the town 2hrs later, what could go wrong 😂
