Hi Alex welcome to the forum

Have you got a multimeter? I would check the voltage across the new battery it might need a good charge if its been stored a while

Failing that I would go for a bad connection as the clocks shut down when you hit the starter it shows either a lack of power or a high draw of power

What battery did you get and what rating is recommended for your bike? Looks like the voltage is collapsing under load, so it either needs charging or is not rated high enough for your bike. I used to use Motobatt batteries as they have a good cold start current rating.

Give the new battery a charge mate and see how it goes. The CCA on the new battery should be a big improvement over the old one, so it should be good. Also double check that the leads are good and clean and really tight on the battery terminals.

Read what? Haven't got the charger yet...

lithium batteries need a different charging routine.

Yeah but the Shorai is 2.6kgs lighter so I'll get to work a tenth of a second quicker :classic_biggrin:

Interesting that they have a Japanese sounding name and the Japanese flag incorporated into their logo . A bit like Suomy helmets that are made in Italy .

So what they mean by founded in California, is they bought some silicone chips so they could copy the f@ckers :classic_laugh:

A few years back my cousin developed an electronic gizmo to do with monitoring commercial freezers but sold virtually none.

He was advised to change the name of the company to a Japanese sounding name, after which he made a fortune.

The stuff was still made in a unit in Glasgow.

Yes could be a bad connection, usually a bad ground but can also be on the 12V side. Low battery voltage usually shows as slow crank or no crank and a clicking starter relay.

This is what level it was at when I plugged the charger in. Is that good??

That looks like the charge voltage to me at a rate of 0.88 Amps

That reading suggests the battery was discharged and the charger is raising the voltage at a moderate current in order to deliver the bulk charge.

I use CTEK chargers which have more diagnostic information on the charging process.
