Jamespodge Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Does anyone know an insurer who will consider insuring someone with less than 1 years no claims bonus on a super sports bike. I’ve been riding a 790 duke for a while and want to have an additional bike. I cannot find any insurance company that will look at it Quote
Bender Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Did you try bike sure Who have you tried, is it location or age that's against you? And welcome 1 Quote
bonio Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) I can't recommend them, but I've used MCE to insured me once when it was hard to find others who would (riding a 1200 with no experience). Edited December 8, 2020 by bonio edited cos can't type Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 TLDR- get separate policies. Why is it less than one years no claims? I assume new rider but less than one year is simply zero so they’ll still insure you for anything for a premium- assuming there’s no other reason. I found adding my no claims in makes a small difference. I’ve wondered if your insurance cost what it gonna cost based on your answers and they actually are just squeezing some extra pennies out to make you insure your no claims and have a pretty good excuse for whacking up your insurance when/if you lose it. I should say thats only based on my experience of adding it in and taking it out of the quote equation. The multi policy thing is a weird area. I really wanted my bikes on one policy but oddly it was cheaper separately and even more strangely adding my other half who only passed his test a last November reduced the price?!?! Another oddity is you can’t have an additional rider on a multi bike policy, so if I paid MORE for a multi bike policy than to insure them separately I couldn’t add him but if I paid less for separate policies I could! 1 Quote
geofferz Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 I presume you've used a comparison site? Run a price with 1 year ncb and see if anything comes up, if not you're a bit out of luck I say. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Bikesure multi bike works well for me. When I added a second bike it got the same NCD and work use as the first one for not much more than the cost of insuring a single bike. Quote

I’ve never had that every time I tried it my policy was nearly double, with the exception of once when I put a classic bike on then it came down. Quote
bonio Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Me too. I've three bikes on three separate policies. Yet to find a multibike policy that isn't more expensive Quote
