Bender Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Going through some new and recent ish articles on mcn threw up some of the crap going in with thefts. Apparently it's believed trackers may be getting stuck on bikes to give them home address, wildlife cameras have been recovered from bike and thieves in general, sticking them up gives them an idea when it's best to call. There has also been an increase of theft of tft dash displays too, easy to remove and expensive to replace. 1 Quote

onesea Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Round here it seems to be catalytic converters for Rhodium, Police advising how to park to make theft more difficult. Also dogs, well actually it’s not true but a chain of people post scare stories about dogs being stolen. The local police have even put statements out stating they have had no reports of stolen dogs. Yet be carful if you go to pet a dog even if it runs over YOU might be going to snatch it. Thankfully for bikes there are enough rich pickings in Bournemouth or Southampton for Chavs. When they do head this way they know exactly what they are targeting normally amateur race bikes etc.. Tiggie Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Cordless angle grinders are scarily cheap nowadays which must surely add to the problem. You can buy a cheap chinese battery powered one on ebay for £20 so that puts it in reach of pretty much anyone Quote

I bought a reciprocating saw for one job and haven’t found another opportunity to use it since. 2 Quote

Great for slicing through exhaust pipe, no access issues, be sure to cut the flanges off with the cat thus ensuring it's almost a full exhaust 1 Quote
Tiggie Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Funnily enough I bought a bare unit last year off ebay as it was going cheap and haven't really had any use for it yet Quote
