The mrs bike requires a chain and sprocket kit, found a good deal with Kobura chain and JT sprockets. Struggling to find reviews on the chain.

DID kit is £35-£40 more but don't mind unless kodura are good.. she doesn't ride erratic or at high speed or track etc.

I can't say I have ever heard of them to be honest!

I am a fan of DID, Tsubaki and Renthal and it would be one of those that I would always go with

I suspect that despite appearances to the contrary that these are not 'made in Japan'. they could possibly be Chinese and repackaged (a tad disingenuously)  in a box with Japanese text, and a Japanese name, then sold as budget alternatives for sale via amazon etc. Im already put off by this lack of info. not even one review on Amazon which itself is very odd.  One thing I have noticed is that they are sold by Sinnis international. perhaps made for them.. 'somewhere'.

I wouldn't bother.

Nobody has heard of it for a reason . Having said that , not too many people are aware of CZ chain but I got very good use out of one . Made by the Czech company that brought you CZ motorcycles .  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZS600-FZ600S-FAZER-2001-CZ-Gold-X-Ring-Drive-Chain-/382892119872?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286

my thoughts are echoed here to be fair. But as said they could just be new too. so based on that il go with a more known brand as i normally would.

Where's the best place to get a chain and sprockets? Is eBay safe or are they mostly knock offs?

eBay is a market place for thousands of reputable and established traders . Before you buy , scroll down and see who the seller is . A lot of the time it turns out to be M&P of Swansea especially if you are looking for the best deal on Chains and Sprockets . Maybe you are thinking of Amazon , AliExpress or , God forbid , Wish .

Check the seller. Some eBay sellers are excellent, some are hopeless. Personally I buy from Wemoto.

As others have mentioned check the seller

I have ordered loads of ebay that was cheaper than everywhere else to find out it was M&P

Back in the days when I used to replace timing chains on Vauxhall engines the most frequent issue was people buying chain kits off ebay that where made of low grade chocolate. Some of them lasted just a few thousand miles and then snapped. Hence the need to know who the seller is and check the chain specification - if in doubt contact the seller and ask the source of the parts.
