Trail Bike

Hi lads,im looking for a trail bike to use through the winter months ,

im hoping to find a chinese or or at least  one of the cheaper foreign bikes 

instead of the main stream bikes,  only needs to be about 125cc

im open to advice

First things first: what's your budget?

you would be better off with a used jap traily

budget around 1 2 grand if new ,

finding a good jap trail bike is not easy

From what I've read, there are 30 Chinese motorbike brands in the UK. Unsure if any are a green lane machine, maybe the Sinnis range. I've no idea when it comes down to build quality or reliability. A couple on the auction sites at 2k.

You'd have been fine a couple of years ago, but the 2nd hand market has gone a bit crazy.

Can't honestly recommend a chinese bike; I had a chinese scoot once and it was built out bits of plastic held together with cheese. Lasted 18 months.

Don't know what to suggest for you.

Something else to consider with a trail bike,  if it's just a winter hack you're looking for, consider the tyres.  Most trail bikes have off road oriented tyres,  great on the Green lanes but absolutely pants on wet tarmac!  I have an off roader and I love green laning it, but I have had a few hairy moments on wet roads.
