Hi there motorcycle people hope you are all safe and well.I have a strange request if there are any motorbike garages out there in the U.k.I want to fix up and get back on the road my Kawasaki Zzr1400 Fdfa. Its in my garage at the moment with a back wheel puncture needing a NEW M.O.T.Can any garage/workshop give me a price of what it would be to come pick up the bike, fix puncture and put a new m.o.t on it (its done 4 miles in a year since last m.o.t).I am just wondering how much including the dreaded V.A.T .Trying to get a good service down here in Cornwall is awkward to say the least the last place i know ( Thor Motorcycles Nr Bodmin ) put a new set of Batlax on the bike front and rear but i have only done about 50 or 60 miles since they did that back in pre lockdown times.rims still have the wheel grease on them and rubber pimples still on BOTH tyres.damm annoying having a puncture after so little milelage. So price please to take away,fix,m.o.t and for me to pick up.Cheers all stay safe from Bbt

Very nice bike you've got there.

Tbh you're best off phoning up the garages and speaking to them directly. I'd have thought it's going to have to be a local place, as no-one's going to want to travel miles just to pick the bike up. There might be people here who can give you ideas of places to try - but as I'm about 400 miles east of Bodmin, I'm not much help here.

Jyväskylä? Blimey that takes me back; not been there in 40 years 🤣. I spent the summer of '79 out east, in Outukumpu.

Best thing to do is find a mot station that does

Class 1 mot  ( motorcycle)

Locally  ( google)

They may be able to collect and do the required work

Failing that and depending on when the MOT runs out and vehicle is taxed  you may be able to use a breakdown company to move the bike under the cover provided .if you dont hold cover join up and take out the policy and then wait  for 24 hours minimum before using to avoid possible surcharged  (relevant cover  depending on how far it has to go ( if more than locally ie more than  10 -15miles   but less than 50 ( check terms and conditions for national recovery time frames for first use after purchasing  )

Or they may attend and succesfully plug the tyre as a temporary fix which will then allow you to legally ride it to a MoT station if you are insured and the vehicle is booked

Mot is £29

Or local man in van etc

Breakdown services are being more particular now about you being present when they pick a bike up. One of the lads I was with in Scotland had to leave his bike by the side of the road in the Borders; RAC wouldn't touch it until he could get back there and hand the bike over to them.
