Affordable A2 touring/ADV bikes?

Hi folks, I’m looking for a capable tourer/ADV for my A2 bike that I can get for around 3k, 4 at a push. Options currently consist of the TDM900, the old GS1150s and the Deuville. I’m quite a large chap so I’m attracted to the ADVs and feel good sitting on them. If anyone has suggestions for late 90s/early 2000s ADVs that are within restrictable power range that would be great.

Cheers,

Patrick

What about a F800GS? if you look around you can get those for around 4k

Good suggestion. the restrictor set up for those models is a very cheap option by comparison with some bikes, not only the part itself (a modified bracket) but the cost of fitment... minutes.

Triumph tiger 800 could be a good shout.

My mate had just upgraded his after doing 121,000 miles. Been all over Europe on it in great comfort with his girlfriend on the back.

I have a TDM 900, nice bike didn't realise they are A2 compatible.

Good for all legal road speeds 2 up as well.

Down side they are 2 cylinder in line and can bea little snatchy there is a fix.

Which has transformed mine except when down to last bar on fuel guage.

I have done half the length of the country on mine. Gets a healthy 50mpg round town on a run 70mpg.

Yes I am thinking of selling but that's because my touring bike is the Trophy.

The trophy rarely guess over 60mph so thinking of 125cc for round town.
