Sapuna Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 I bought my new Honda 750NC x last May and after 4000km the clutch was slipping. Contacted my local agent and said that it is wear and tear. I had to pay for parts even though it is still under warranty. Clutch is not covered with warranty. Does anyone had any problems with the clutch. Thanks Quote

bonio Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 A clutch is always excluded from the warranty as a consumable. But I think a clutch that lasts only 4k would be usefully followed up by a firm conversation with the dealer about things being fit for purpose, consumable or not. 1 Quote

Different issue but this was the point I made with a royal Enfield dealer when I had issues mentioning fit for purpose was the point they agreed to sort the issue begrudgingly 1 Quote

iangaryprice Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 As most above say clutch wear is usually quoted as wear and tear. But clutch failure after 4000miles on a new bike is not, I would be gong back and saying its just not accpectable. Its either a mnaufacturing fault or an adjustment fault at PDI. The clutch in my GSX600 is still good after 20 years and 56,000 miles. It does get some aggresive starts at times as well. 1 Quote
skyrider Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 in 1981 i bought a new xj 550 yam and shortly after i got it i noticed every morning going to work that it was getting harder to get into gear and finally one morning i set off and it wouldnt change up or down so the bike shop picked it up and they said that the clutch bearings had fallen apart , i was still running it in and only done 800 miles Quote
