Bender Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Today the wife who is sans dentist had toothache she could no longer stand, phoned a dentist from nhs list that's taking new patients. 8 weeks, wait Thought it was going to be a nightmare and apparently telling her I told you so wasn't helping, who would have thought. They said ring 111 Called, got straight through, you need a call back, that came pronto. Appointment for dental haspital 2hrs later, Ohh yes that's bad, out it comes. She hates going so it was great she had no time to worry about any of it Fairly amazed considering some of the stories I've read about waiting for treatment. 8 Quote

Wife is a prescriber for 111 lots of people don't know they can sort dental referrals. Often can get you an appointment at ur GPs too when they say they ain't got any appts they have powers of persuasion with lazy GPs 1 Quote

Not a dentist, but I've been waiting to see a specialist since Jan. Phoned to chase the other day, "oh ye, it'll be around October before we can see you". My own fault, really. Too tight to pay the excess on the private policy that comes with the job. 1 Quote
Pie man Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Glad its sorted, toothache is a pain that you cant really put up with, I cant stand it either when the wife gets it however, we've been today, as much as I don't like it, I'd rather go to the dentist than have my hair cut. 1 1 Quote
S-Westerly Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Haven't got hair to cut so dentist isn't that bad. Visit dentist every time I'm home as horrendous toothache for a month at sea is not an experience I ever want to repeat. 2 Quote
Ronnie Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Spoke to the doctor's receptionist on Monday afternoon to see if I could get a rendezvous with a doctor for my annual personal MOT. She asked "Is it urgent " I told her it wasn't , it was just an annual check up for old codgers like me. " The soonest I can do is 08.00 Wednesday morning, will that do ? " Wouldn't have got that in Glasgow, now or even fifteen years ago when I bailed out for France. 1 Quote
