Interference Fit Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) I find the grips on my CBR650R a little on the thin side and would like to see if there are any go-to brands to consider for high quality, thicker items? Any recommendations? (Not looking for heated grips) Edited October 24, 2023 by Interference Fit Quote
Old-codger Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 You could try a set of Oxford Fat grips. Quote
Interference Fit Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 Thanks both, given the low price, I'll try some puppies as reviews look ideal. Quote

Always the first thing I do, as mostly modern grips are like holding a pencil in each hand. for the Africa Twin I had to trim them a little at one end as they were too long, be sure to do this first before attempting to fit them as they can be very difficult to get off - once on, without damaging them. Fitting them is fairly straightforward. I use the wet method. washing up liquid with a little water inside and on the grip itself then slide it on. once its in position leave it alone to dry. preferably overnight or a couple of days if its cold and wet and you don't have a dry garage. 1 Quote
Interference Fit Posted October 26, 2023 Author Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) Got them fitted after a little trim in length. I used compressed air to fit them. It's cold, dark and wet out, so I'll test them another day but they appear to be just what I'm looking for - thanks for the suggestion. Edited October 26, 2023 by Interference Fit 1 Quote

Interference Fit Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 Just to update, the Grip Puppies are great - the thickness makes micro throttle adjustments so much easier to make and they have eliminated hand cramp, especially in the right hand. Highly recommended. 2 Quote

Highly recommended. Cost effective copies available on eBay and Temu I think it was £3 a pair. Quote
S-Westerly Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Grip puppies aren't exactly expensive and I'm trying to avoid buying from any Chinese source. Quote
