Bugger. Which type of kit did you use out of interest? Shroom head plugs or wiggly worms?

The shroom kit but it didn’t quite seal it. I’ve now put a wiggly worm in which I think has done the trick. I got a small kit on Amazon so that will live in my top box now.

The tyres felt great though and quieter than the original tyres.

I'm tempted to say not a lot but I'm trying to get experience of different roads in decent weather. On Thursday I chose a route that was uphill with tight blind corners, sheep grazing freely on either side for about 5 miles.  I've done that route on my pedal cycle before, so it's reasonably familiar, but the speed of the motorbike is the new dimension. Happily it all worked out fine on another bright sunny evening.

That is classic bonio. I bet she wasn't even annoyed.

I've did this this morning:

Missed a session then back out though. Last time round Peter Hickman lapped me at least 3 times. Black lines all over barn corner and out on the start finish, into the distance. Bloody excellent 👌

Can't park there mate.

I will stop going on about it after this, but I just got the email to say the track day photos were available. I don't normally buy anything unless they capture me crashing but...

I'm pretty sure in this shot I am blocking him off on the last corner down to the chequered flag to keep my top spot in the championship. Or, I'm just a moving bollard cocking up his testing sheet. Notice the lack of windscreen on my one, that's why I'm not leant over as much as him.

Awesome pic is that

I rode up to the well known Green Welly on the A82 on Tuesday, a lovely and uneventful ride up. The weather forecast was worse than the actual weather, thankfully, and I was prepared to turn around further south than the Green Welly but it stayed dry and a wee bit sunny so I kept going. Had a nice chat with a bloke at the Welly who was running in a Harley after a rebore, then set off for the return. It was a wee bit different from the ride up though.

The Falls of Falloch car park entrance, some moron was reversing out of the car park onto the A82. Another moron was waiting to turn into the car park and decided the best way to do that was to stop across the southbound lane. Brain cells were in short supply. I was overtaken by a Honda Forza further down the A82 on the banks of Loch Lomond, after we'd been held up for half an hour while the police cleared a collision between a car driver and a wall. The guy on the Forza was on a roll, he zoomed past the van in front of me after tailgating it and then the guy on the BMW F750 in front of the van. 😬

Anyway, I decided to extend my ride by going to Helensburgh then up to the roundabout at the far end of Faslane, where I turned round and headed for the Erskine Bridge, through Bishopton and down to Largs before turning round and heading back home to Inverclyde. It was a good day out, different roads, some light rain showers and a persistent wind from the south, all good experience. One of the best was passing the Drovers Inn. Traffic was heavyish there and I almost missed it, but the aroma from their kitchen left me in no doubt where I was 😁.

After passing my CBT yesterday I decided to take my bike out for its maiden voyage. Nothing too special just a couple of back roads and around town.

Few things to note. One it was very windy, two wind chill had me bloody freezing, it also started raining! Oh did I mention it was bloomin windy.

However I absolutely enjoyed every second and can’t wait to get back out.

Today was also kinda my first rode out on a bigger bike, I was amazed at the amount of extra throttle I needed to use with the crazy head wind. There was a point at which it was almost surreal how much extra I had to add just to maintain speed

Windy all day, so I waited for sundown and headed out to test my rear brake, and see what it was like with air in the tyres (once again let down by my trust in others).

I only managed a mile and she conked out on me.

Some kind people in a Landrover stopped to check I was OK, so I hollered through my open visor, "yes thanks, I forgot to turn the bloody fuel on" 😂😂😂

I was only out for an hour, but really enjoyed the roundabouts on the Haverhill bypass, then out towards Bury St Edmunds and back again.

Lovely back brake, and great handling.

Not a fan of riding in the dark, had my high beam on whilst using the unlit A roads.

@Simon Davey Haverhill bypass has a cracking chain of roundabouts. Somehow more satisfying heading towards Cambridge than the other way, I think because they come closer and closer together.

To all you lucky lot out on your bikes this time of year remember its harvest time and around here in bedfordshire every bend and roundabout is covered in grain. Some junctions and roundabouts yesterday were awash with the stuff and bad enough in a car let alone coming across it on a bike. Take care you lot and have fun.

Not to mention the slow moving tractors etc

I can confirm harvest is in full swing and the roads are very busy with holiday traffic.

Didn't stop me getting to Skeg Vegas and having fish and chips.

Other than going up to Sheriffmuir (very steep and constant, thought I'd have to push it at one point!) The little CB didn't miss a beat. Perfect bike for the roads and riding I done today.

Looking forward to moving to a bigger bike but now considering what I need from one...

Sunday, sat the missus on the back and proceeded to ride around 30 miles or so to a cafe near York.  Both to further settle the missus in, but mainly to test the new reg rec.

Arrived at cafe, removed seat and had a suspicious sniff around.  No smell of burning.  Reg was hot as expected, but not too hot to touch.

Arrived home without incident and I no longer look at that right seat cowl with deep suspicion.

She is feeling pleased as punch with herself.  I think she even enjoyed the ride out.
