Gary Watkinson
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so not really sure if this is the right place to introduce myself and my problem. Whilst out riding my Virago today the bike suddenly stopped and all electrics have ceased. No ignition light showing or power anywhere. Was cruising along fine before this. Has anyone got any ideas on where I start to rectify this. Thanks in advance. Gary.
Bender
Battery and connections and voltage would be the first place to start Welcome.
Simon Davey
As @Bender suggests, that's surely going to be a battery lead come loose.
Nick the wanderer
Or a fuse popped, look under the seat.
Gary Watkinson
Thanks for the quick replies. I'll start looking at the connections and fuses. I'll let you know how I get on. Cheers.

rob m
It's not been charging and has been running solely off the battery, hence the sudden cut out when the battery had no charge left. Check the stator, rectifier and battery as an all in one issue. This video is useful. 1

Nick the wanderer
At least you found it, good job. I'd be having a bit of a look at the rest of the wiring while you are in there. Checking for any more damage , shorts, earths etc.
Mississippi Bullfrog
Check the state of your battery as well. Just in case it's getting past it. You don't want to fry your new r/r.

rob m
I’ve used Electrex R/R and stators in the past and they’ve been great. They’re really helpful if you call them and can guide you to get it sorted . https://www.electrexworld.co.uk
RideWithStyles
to be honest if thats happened like others have mentioned before, but id check everything! all the wiring, fuses, relay and change tha battery as most likely been degraded badly by the scenario now anyway.
