Hi everyone. I'm back on a bike after 20 years, and from next month I will be commuting to work once a week on my bike.

I have some RST Textiles, but  these are a bit snug for wearing clothing underneath for work.

Any suggestions/recommendations for textiles that might have a looser fit ?

take work clothes in a rucksack

This is better, because whether it's hot and sweaty or cold and wet, your cloths will be fresher and drier in a rucksack.

What is work clothing, is it a office suit or something else?

I sized up. I'm normally a large but bought XL Oxford hinterland suit. There's enough space for my office shirt and trousers while wearing the thermal layer but it's not too loose when I take that out in the finer weather should we ever get some.

Suit jackets are left in the office as are my shoes. Just don't bring your shoes home and forget to bring them back again. Not that I ever did that...... 😬

I ride into work (smart/casual dress code). Summer - bike jeans, trainers, leather or mesh jacket.

Winter - slightly oversized J&S textiles (IXS Navigator), leather boots.

Wet n' orrible weather - waterproofs over textiles, sidi boots, trainers in top box.

For me it's smart-casual, nice jeans and a smart casual shirt. I guess I could try to size up.

No collar, no tie and working mens trousers ?   My, things have changed.

Bet you don't even have to wear a bowler hat.

I bought RST textiles one size up to wear over work clothes as I was commuting every day. This worked fine.

However now I am retired they are too big, 😉

Dang it you made me feel old... when I first started work there still a few bowler hats floating on the tide of suits and ties and white shirts that ebbed over London Bridge every morning.

I can remember my grandfather having his bowler hat handed to him by my nan as he stepped out the door on his way to work.

I’ve been led to believe that Aerostitch kit is ideal.. I have no experience of said garments so you’d need to check the info’

I used to leave my office clothing ay work and change when I got there - jacket and trousers hung over the back of my chair, shoes under my desk, the rest I wore under my bike kit.
