The NHS is one of the biggest clients I work alongside currently. When I come into contact with the grey beards, the guys calling the shots (pun intended), I have asked them a lot, especially in recent years. They see a lot of patients this time of year needing urgent care due to winter illnesses, and in a nutshell the flu jab is as much to protect you as it is to protect them from big surges. Similar to the covid jab. 

 

Just be careful with stuff on social media and youtube. There's a lot of conspiracies floating around vaccines in general at the moment, which are often traced back to America where doctors can make money for certain treatments. Was pointed out to me by one of these greybeards that the theories are incompatible with free health care, as there's literally no financial motive for the NHS to knowingly poison people. They wouldn't increase their workload willingly.

Yep. As somebody who has worked for the NHS for 36 years as a nurse, I can confirm that any measures to prevent illness or death are decided to save lives, prevent harm and for no other reason. As an NHS manager I attend many, many meetings to discuss how we can prevent further harm after serious incidents. The culture is to learn and avoid further harm to our patients. 

 

I've got no time for conspiracists. Anti vaxxers, Covid deniers, the global illuminati, weather manipulation etc.  Yeet them into the sea.

I quite like America and Americans given my brother lives there and I've had some brilliant holidays over there. Also I go there a lot for work and it is a hassle free experience generally.

Most Americans are technically bat shit crazy  

 

It's also now turning into a very expensive country, last time we went shopping in a Walmart we abandoned the trolly and decided Applebee's was cheaper with no washing up but only just.

 

But give them a whiff of a conspiracy theory and they are either lining up like lemmings or loading the gun Infront of you slowly whilst smiling....

I'll be honest if I had the choice of living in the US or here I'd be gone so fast you'd just see the dust. That said I'd be picky about where I lived in the US.
