    Man Vs woman!

The wife is looking at what stuff we have and need for our holiday in a couple of weeks and as such is making a list of what to take! I think the list speaks for itself
  3. You're welcome! Thanks for posting the solution so to help others who may have the issue!
  4. I would get one tomorrow if they was cheaper The cost you pay for a decent one just outweighs any savings
  5. Skoda Enyaq An electric car would be more than enough range for me as all I do is go to work and back! We use the wife's car for everything else but even then we could probably get away with an electric car for her for 99% of the time
  6. Which is worse for it stop start can just sap the juice but the point I was making I bet the majority of people drive to work then back and thats it with the odd trip out on a weekend which a range of 150-200 miles will be sufficient between charges I drove to Grimsby and back in my bosses car then he went home for the full weekend before returning on Monday before he could charge it Grimsby and back took about 30% battery with all the heating on as normal and I put it in sports mode for a while which made no difference to the range When he first got it he left work on the night with 275 miles remaining went home then football then returned to work the nest day with 278 miles remaining
  7. Drove my first electric car the other week! I was very impressed to be honest Everyone seems to get hung up on the range when most people just drive around the town They are like anything running on a battery the more you use the electrics the more you will lose off the range! Also the range will fluctuate depending on how you are driving too
  8. Decided that I should give the bike a wash today as I didn't from the last time I was out and all this salt is not good! But took it for a ride first Bit nippy but nice and dry and a good ride
  9. No as it was the dust seal I should have said really
  10. Its been a long time since I had a bike where the pads are in the caliper my most recent bikes all have a similar design to that one Anyway it can only be the pistons not retracting back in the caliper or the slides sticking thats causing it to bind I have twisted a seal when assembling calipers in the past which can cause them to stick too
  11. I think the points system needs a revamp! Some of these old folk are getting confused!!
  12. The ledge for the pads is normal although there is usually a metal/stainless steel bit that goes on there Its always wise to put a touch of copper grease on there too but that won't be the reason the brakes are sticking Also check that the brake lever is returning to the correct position and not sticking on slightly Forget the hoses until you have tried everything else although it can happen where they collapse its pretty rare and I am a firm believer in checking everything before spending money as you could just be chasing a fault
  13. I would put something in the caliper between the pads and pump the brake and see if the piston retracts once released. You will notice as whatever you put in you should easily be able to take it out again. Did you clean out the rubbers where the slides go and did you grease them back up? they look a bit dry in that pic
  14. Hi and welcome Replace the pads and clean the disc with brake cleaner
  15. Maybe just a verbal warning..................
  16. Can you get a picture of the caliper? Usually if its had new seals etc then it would be the slide thats sticking
  17. I use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ifblock.motchecker&gl=GB you can set it to remind you up to 30 days before your MOT is due
  18. Yes! He sent me a message yesterday he has a new phone and struggling to get on but not heard anything since
  19. Wheres the bike? Newcastle/sunderland area? I would get @Bender to deliver it he does nothing all day............ Personally I would be tempted to go have a look at the bike before you buy it and also ride it and ride it home too
  20. Pretty sure its to be expected well except for the rank bit Easy way to tell is does it have a gasket? if so its there to stop leaks
  21. He must be getting paid enough to be out there doing it all! it seems a bit strange to be honest
  22. Not watched it but I was a bit puzzled that Brad Ray is only competing in the European rounds only
  23. Fitted the centre stand today The springs on this thing are pretty powerful! so much so that I ended up making a tool to fit the springs to make life easy I also polished up my black widow downpipes and refitted them today I then found half a clip on the floor! it had broken off the left foot peg pin! luckily I had a clip to fit I then found the other half of the clip when I moved the bike
  24. Mass production for you! It's all done on the cheap
