  2. nice job alan yeah stainless is pretty good at been polished up after scratched i got a stainless can a few years back that was a right mess all pitted from road salt give it a right good sand down with wet and dry going from course to very fine then finished off with autsol was a right good job but nothing like what you have done
  3. oh yeah spring will come off easy too i just need some spring compressors if i cant get hold of any I will just cut it off with a grinder
  4. I was but some things have changed so keeping it for at least another year!! there is a lot that look the same but they are either too long or too short not sure if anyone has checked out the triumph one
  5. I baught a new bitubo for the TL about 2 years ago and was a great shock to start with but over time it has lost its damping so its time for a swap. I have done a bit of research and a R6/R1 shock will fit in by making up a mounting bracket or buying one off someone on another forum for £32 posted I think I will buy one as I don't have a lot of time to make one! The TL uses a separate spring and damper unit and when I fitted the Bitubo shock I sold the old spring unit so I have to source one of those too. Just been and picked up a R6 shock for £30 I need to remove the spring off it as all I will be using is the damper unit.

  19. Sounds like the plates have stuck together get it running and up to temp and it might release I've started a bike in gear before today and then held it on the brakes to make it release with the clutch pulled in of course Personally I would strip the clutch though

    head gasket

Yet may get away with it but if it dumps the water in to the sump your screwed yet could seize the motor The cam doesn't need to be done but may as well while its apart

    head gasket

first of all you cant get a haynes for your bike but head over to zxrworld and get a manual from there its pretty easy to do i would change your cam chain too while your at it they are known for stretching on the zxr put the engine at TDC count the links on the timing chain at certain points and check the markings on the cam personally i would get the engine out as it makes working on it easier
