  1. Get a multimeter and work from the rear to the front Turn the lights on and check if your getting power for the lights if not work your way to the front till you find why not I would say its not the earth as the break light should use the same one and they work fine but still worth a look to make sure its not got its own
  2. First one and twist one away from the other a bit so they aren't inline

You got a set of jump leads and access to a car? Try jumping it off the car without the car running if it starts its the battery

to be honest its about on par with the blades of the same year not a lot in it its when you get on the twistys these things come in to their own just wind it on in any gear and it goes and V twins produce a different wave of power which makes it much harder to spin the rear its not impossible it just takes a lot more throttle as i have found out Ive never done a trackday on this so cant really comment pulling away in everyday use there is just power right from 2000rpm all the way to 9500 redline is 10500

try bump starting it first to see if it will actually run get someone to give ya a good push though dont try yourself if you get it going check all connections especially on the battery, starter relay and the starter motor it could just be a furred up connection and a new starter wont solve that

I don't really battle to keep the front down I don't mind it lifting I have got used to it over the past 5 and half years and know how much to give it without it coming up too much although its very easy to lift in almost any gear but Im not one for wheelies Yeah I have ridden the SV it is a little bit more comfy and less power I found it boring it is the same engine in both but the SV has different cams although the fuel injection standard is better but that makes no difference with a power commander I have also ridden with a few of them and on a drag I pull away pretty easily

You sure the battery is fine? The click could just be the starter solonoid But as above too could be starter stuck to free it rock it in gear
  8. More to the point why the hell are you starting it if your not riding it? Leave it alone and keep the battery on charge till your ready to start using it
  9. Definitely worth the investment You can also get magnetic oil filters too
  10. the cam chain drives the cam shafts which runs of the crank and keeps everything timed up and as you have said the tensioner tensions the chain edit: ive never known any issues with the tensioner on the bandit
  11. the bandit is a noisy engine too
  12. nope not all my zxr400 and 2 gsxr600's never had them my mates R6 doesnt have one either
  13. Get to Asda castrol for 10 quid
  14. I would go for a mid range oil and change it before service interval Car and bike oils are the same all these friction modifiers is a load of bull have a read of this http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/oiltest1.htm
  15. I know that but the fact that all that has come out the engine in only 3k
  16. Did an oil change today so took a pic Pretty worrying really!!
  17. all suzuki's do well every one that i know of anyway and thats a fair few
  18. Usually the clutch switch is bypassed when the neutral light is active, so the bike starts o.k. with clutch out Depends on the bike And I would highly recommend not bypassing the clutch switch Some bikes rely on the clutch switch been closed to run the right fuel map
  19. It might not even have an idle control valve! You would need to check some are controlled by the ecu If it has one it should be on the air intake somewhere Check vac lines too as suggested
  20. I'm doing an oil change soon on mine if mine has any on I will take a pic
  21. It's that fine that the filter could let it through its like a paste
  22. It does sound to me like an idle control valve sticking every now and then
  23. Like I said above I do get a bit of sediment on mine which shows the filter doesn't get it all
  24. If its got an idle control valve its probably that can easily clean them up
  25. I have one fitted and you do get a bit of sediment on them! Not sure who makes mine though
