    brake binding

thats the problem with second hand you really dont know what they are like till you get them you could end up having to rebuild them and you could just do that to yours also you still on rubber lines? could have a bit of crap in the caliper from the line blocking the fluid flowing back out the caliper properly or even a collapsed line theres loads of reasons start with the calipers work your way up
  3. have you had the cables off? if the return cable is too tight it will cause a throttle to stick i know ive done it check adjustments, routing and lube all moving parts

Have you cleaned up behind the seals? A common problem is a build up behind the seal and causes the seals to grip the piston's
  5. im working and cant swap either!! bit gutted to be honest
  6. Bikes don't have a front plate. no but they can write your plate down as you go past as it videos you too!!
  7. yes i bet it is! maybe in the summer its a tad cold now
  8. looking good I wouldn't mind seeing this in the flesh
  9. or a head gasket gone between an oil way or valve stem oil seals theres quite a bit on the list! get some tools remove plug and give it a good clean up if its wet let it dry out or replace for peace of mind how longs it been stood? if the plug is dry the carb could be gummed up and need a clean
  10. seen as though you are 21 and can do DAS and ride any bike i would get a second hand 600 ish cc of some sort you will get bored of the 250 very quick and its a lot of money for a first bike you can pick up a decent 600 for around 1-1.5k and have a lot more fun and not get bored of it something like a fazer, hornet or bandit check out the bikes and the insurance too
  11. ive had 3 points and a £60 fine for going fast and we shall leave it at that! i learnt my lesson...... ......keep an eye open
  12. sounds like you have a short somewhere a trapped wire on the starter relay or something have a good look around where you have been working
  13. i dropped mine against the side of vicki's house the first time i met her
  14. Don't even use soap! It's full of salt Get on ebay or amazon and order a few tins of chain cleaner its delivered to your door so you don't have to go to shops for it
  15. Don't forget the master cylinder too no point doing the calipers if you don't have enough fluid going to them
  16. i cant wait to see the finished bike do you fancy doing a guide in the "Guides, Manuals, & Riding Advice" section on how to spray panels as it gets asked a bit and by the looks of things you know what your on about
  17. two lines are easier to bleed for a start theres no real noticeable difference to be honest you loose the splitter if it has one saving a little weight
  18. excellent you wont go wrong with a gel battery either i use one in my car and been a diesel it needs all the juice i can get and this battery was stood a year with no charge before i put it in my car

like i say the optimate only puts charge in when it needs it and its not a constant trikle im sure they only charge for 30 mins too then test a battery to see if it holds the charge before attempting another 30 min charge
  20. i really doubt its the starter fozzie i would try and make it do it again then attach some jump leads to the battery from a car not running though and hit the starter if it turns over and starts i would put money on the battery
  21. baby wipes or hot soapy water then treat with a leather feed once or twice a year
  22. maybe you left it on an optimate..... your battery night be taking a charge but not holding enough so that the 10 seconds of wait and the drain from the headlight might just be enough to stop it starting battery could have dropped a cell or two

    Storing a bike

Hmmm honestly see it at all because as you know the optimate only puts charge in when the battery needs it so won't over charge it or cause it to boil

I've never heard of an optimate a killing a battery mine is left on one all year round never had a problem
  25. I find the old fashion way is best Easier with two people too pump lever hold on release the bleed nipple close nipple then pump back up remember to hold th lever back till the nipple is closed again I find this the best way as bleed nipples can let air in from around the threads hence megas tip on the grease around the nipple but it doesn't always do the job
