  1. Let's not start suggesting places for next year just yet
  2. We are thinking of having 200 places next year tango so I'm sure there will be room for it
  3. Stu could this be made a sticky so it doesn't get lost amongst other posts being made throughout the year? sorry to break your no questions rule its already pinned to the top
  4. its not just about significant places its about great biking roads and meet up places for other bikers!
  5. all questions on the discussion thread please this is for pics only all other posts will be deleted http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 12&t=42650
  6. I thought this was for fun Stu....... Another thing: are pictures from speed cameras allowed...... Double points if it was up to me True dedication to the game, altho getting all 100 might be a problem... you will get 13 if its from a speed camera 10 for the tag and 3 on your licence
  7. you dont have to enter the pub
  8. 1. You ride to the current tag photo. (Keep it in the UK!) 2. You photograph your bike at that location showing both your bike and the object in the photo. 3. You then take a photo of your bike in front of another landmark, geographic location, etc. 4. Post both photo's following the rule. 5. Another rider then must tag your photo. I've nicked the idea from a USofA site I use. They do it by State (some of which are about the size of our country!!). Sometimes there is a clue such as a known monument/landmark. The idea is to get out riding on your bike with a 'purpose'! Oh, and only one tag at a time. Don't post a second one until you have a photo of your bike at the first site, hence the name "TAG, YOU'RE IT!" Right Guys - Just to clarify! TAG a place by taking a photo of your bike at it. Place that pic on the thread to show you have TAGged it. -No time limit, but someone else may beat you to it if you don't do it straight away! Place another pic of your bike at the next place for someone else to TAG. I see no problem in having 'library' pictures - I started the thing off by doing that! Only thing I would say is make sure it is the same bike - A 1978 Super Dream straight out of registration at the delaers is NOT acceptable! Good thing about 'library' shots is it keeps the thread moving quickly and if it is opposite end of the country opens it up to people in different areas and keeps it moving around the country too.
  9. IMO It's not a minor problem if its getting hot Have you checked the rad for bent/damaged fins? Any steam or smoke out the exhaust?
  10. I think you have a problem somewhere See if you can get a pressure test done on the cooling system
  11. Push the stand down and back and get someone to steady the bike the first few times
  12. When you say riding slower how slow is slower? Stuck in traffic or riding at a steady 30?
  13. Cheers bogof can't see that on my phone! They aren't known for overheating for no reason but I have known of water pump and head gasket failures
  14. Also check the radiators not blocked with road crap and stopping it cooling
  15. Moved to pitstop The fan won't make a blind bit of difference if its doing it while riding as in this weather the fan won't come on when its moving If it only gets got in traffic that's when you need to check the fan out Check the radiator to see if it gets hot if so your stat is fine What bike is it too? It could be water pump remove the radiator cap give it a few revs you should see the water drop slightly also smell the coolant a good sign the head gasket has gone is if you can smell exhaust fumes from the coolant
  16. go take a look at it it doesnt matter if its been dropped as long as its all straight
  17. it could just be that the caliper has furred up a little while been stood in most cases it will free of when you ride again personally i would get a tin of brake cleaner take the caliper off pump the pistons out a few mm clean with the brake cleaner and a old tooth brush push the pistons back and see how it is from there ps dont just push the pistons back without cleaning you could contaminate the seals
  18. and if no joy a common problem it bad connection inside i have had them apart before and cleaned them up just go careful and be prepared to buy a new one
  19. Is it the gsxr750 in your profile ? If so its fuel injected so forget up jetting as above it would need a power commander As suggested try the old filter back in also check to make sure the air box is sealed tight to and on the throttle bodies properly too
  20. Stu

    First tool set

Second this (not so stupid) I got this set last year Its got every socket i've needed for the last 12 months Third this I've had this set for about 4 years and its great its been well abused too My advice is don't buy cheap shit as it will break or round off nuts buy the best you can afford build it up over time I'm constantly adding to mine but its got to the point where I have all the basic stuff and have been looking at all advanced gear like complete sets of timing gear locking pins and specialist tools that only one manufacturer would use etc
  21. excellent well done if you only lock up a bit and release and control it you will only get a minor as your showing you can control the bike and regain control in a skid situation!
  22. Just bleed it up it will be fine no need to leave it over night
  23. Must make you wonder how much cheaper you could've got it had they not had to pay for a stand and just sold them to you online? Was talking to a dealer who told me his stand for selling helmets, leathers etc cost 24K for the event. Yep, 24000 english pounds That I can believe as I enquired about seeing if we could distribute some flyers and they wouldn't let us without a stand and just to have your name on the sponsors board was 2k a day!
  24. they will be fine just connect the lines and bleed them up you wont get enough moisture in to notice any difference
  25. could be a number of things corroded fitment broken wire bad earth etc etc have you got a multimeter? if not go buy one they are cheap and start testing the wiring and connectors
