  1. I know, tell everyone your partner was in their element, come on, admit you were too Good luck with the interview, sounds like you have the determination that so many people lack these days.
  2. I can do most things myself, but I procrastinate a lot and take an age to do anything. Hope to find someone independent like you have.
  3. Well, sort of. He made it faster, and put new tyres on. Just looking on their website for a nose about, and I saw they do a "while you wait" service, and I thought that, as the oil is as black as soot, it would be a good excuse to look at the bikes they have and get a feel for what they're like. Last chap didn't actually sort out my low rev spluttering, his answer was to ride it faster, which is a crap thing for a mechanic of his experience to say. Anyhoo, I've pretty much sorted it myself, but need a couple more rides to confirm whether it's back pressure from the new "quiet" baffles, or whether it was the SeaFoam. I'm doing my front calipers this week, and on Tuesday 7th, I'm going to Newport near Saffron Waldon for some kind of bike meet.
  4. Cheers, yes, I'll be trying to find an independent for the stuff I can't do. Happy to do most stuff myself.
  5. Only done a few hundred miles on my bike, and I thought I'd get a main dealer to check it over and give it a service before I spend the summer riding as much as possible. "Sorry sir, your bike is too old" was the reply. 2005 ZZR1200 isn't new, but it's only got 16k on the clock. So, they've instantly lost the chance future sales to me.
  6. Me too, I'm with you 100%. Defensive riding, always look for what could happen. We might be able to prevent it from happening, but slowing down at the right time can make a massive difference to the outcome. If we have to slam on the anchors, or swerve, just mutter and carry on.
  7. That's a very confusing picture, looks like a border control with altitude, and I'm guessing it's not on the M74.... What's going on then?
  8. That's great news, and looking at the advert, someone's going to get a bike that looks brand new, for an absolute bargain.
  9. Well done for keeping on top of it
  10. Well, I love it, and I even stroke the tank, but, I'm still embarrassed that after 24 years out, I bought a ZZR1200 It was a spur of the moment thing, in a rare circumstance. Aaaaaaaand, it was £1500, because it was a cosmetic insurance write-off One of my first bikes when I passed my test, was a GT550, ex-courier machine, but fantastic fun, and sub-consciously, I have mostly stuck with Kawasaki since.
  11. Welcome to the forum, what a cracking bike to get back on to, and shaft drive too. I'm in a similar position, got back just before Christmas, and my bike is 19 years old.
  12. Welcome to the forum, glad you're enjoying the bike.
  13. That's a beauty, healthy looking too.
  14. I really should fit that new wiper motor that's been in the shed for a few months.....
  15. Happy birthday Ian, good luck with the fishing, and the foot, of course.
  16. Hi @Nikki and welcome to the forum. No Idea, most of us are In England, so may not know, some live the other side of the world, like Scotland, or France. Congratulations on the Harley.. I would start with the same place you get your driving licence, maybe they can help. Hopefully someone who really knows will be along soon.
  17. Welcome to the forum @wellerchap
  18. Flippin' 'eck, so those two beauties in the pictures went along then...
