  1. Go West - Pet Shop Boys.
  2. Two screwdrivers, extension bars, straight things either side of the pipe then zip tie them together nice and tight at each end.
  3. (In a high, squeaky voice): Mimminy, mimminy - ooh, could be the valve - mimminy mimminy. Smart arse.
  4. It's a fiddy my friend, so long as the fuel hose has an internal diameter, you'll be fine. Bob's right, if you're getting fuel to the carb then the only thing it could be is the floats - they'd have to have quite a gap to do the sort of thing you're describing. Maybe knock them up a couple of mm and see what happens.
  5. If it's doing a run - conk out cycle then I'd be looking at fuel delivery to the carb - blocked filter, iffy tap, kinked hose etc...
  6. Didn't someone recently do a rear shoe change on something like that and have a bit of write-up/trouble shoot?
  7. I think we've discovered we're all shit at finding keys...
  8. Me - I tried to take my phone apart to "fix" it. It's now in bits and I'm using an old phone. :-s
  9. You are! Come and meet me and some others neer the blackwall tunnel! Doubt I'll meet you at the tunnel matey boy, I'll be a bit pushed for time in the morning and I don't want to hold you up. If the weather holds I'll catch you at the RV point at 2ish. For anyone interested, I'll be going down the A12 from Felixstowe with a stop at Asda in Greenhithe for fuel...
  10. Oi! Anyone from the Ipswich/Felixstowe area tagging along on this one?
  11. I think I see where you're going - chop it off where the downpipe get's larger and shift the while thing back, right? I'm with mega - you'd have to check the clearances and angles but you might be better off chopping it just before the larger pipe and using a proper step adapter (quite cheap) to give a much better fit or better yet, weld a bit of correctly sized pipe over the thinner pipe so the can just slips on without the need for the bit you're replacing.
  12. All of T-Mobile and 3. I smashed the screen on my phone a bit last week but luckily I'm due an upgrade. I've been trying to call them all week but I get bored of listening to the same 3 songs while I'm waiting to speak to someone so end up hanging up. Also, where are all these mozzies coming from? Blood sucking nobs.
  13. "Good" chains tend to hover about the £70-100 mark. I've got an Oxford Hardcore and a Monster, both hefty and have stood 10+ years of abuse/rain/ice/salt and other assorted shit getting at them. Beefy chains are all well and good but can be broken fairly easily - if you're on a budget, spend the heft of your cash on the lock/shackle, you can always upgrade the chain later. Either that or look at ebay - just don't get it delivered to your home address!
  14. Maybe in case of an incident.
  15. Unfortunately, I've not been able to find booties that fit my (not quite as massive as Ollie's) feet. I just try and make sure I don't have to walk that far in them otherwise I end up walking like I've shit myself.
  16. So then, about Co-Pilot... I've just downloaded it and it says I can use it free for 14 days - what happens after that? Is there something to pay?
  17. Only really good if you're going to a single destination though - can't do any route calcs off-line either. On the other hand it's quick and easy to pre-cache map areas.
  18. If you fancy something a bit rocker style you could have a look in "vintage"/charity shops. My first biker jacket was from one of those and it lasted very well and was cheap as chips.
  19. What's the weather going to be like Stu?
  20. No, no, no Joeman. A REAL man would eat a load of beans, jam the hose up his arse and run the tools with fart power*. *Also good as an ad-hoc blowtorch.
  21. Mr Fro

    oil change query

I'd add turn over the engine a few times after 15 mins or so to empty the oil pump and passages. Wouldn't bother stripping the sump or anything else off though - never touched engine flush either.
  22. Yup, that's a decent fix. Can't see any problems with it.
  23. You dudes thought about adding an overnight stop on one of your ride outs? There are some great roads further to the east but that might be a bit much for a one dayer. There are some of those camping/pod things somewhere near Deal which are pretty cheap and cheerful.
  24. That means your wife was... right! This being the case, I would get the biggest one I could shoe horn in the garage and tell her it's essential equipment*. *This may not necessarily be a good idea and may lead to many arguments and use of the phrase "I told you so".
  25. My advice is to be guided by the highest consumption tool you intend on using. Then buy a decent branded one.
