1. Nope, I just went to school. If you're going to call people out for using words and phrases with which you don't agree then you've got to accept that people will pull you up too.
2. Same as many things isn't it Bob, a few turds spoil it for the rest of us.
3. Did you use a comma where you should have used a semicolon? That would be a no I think. Hint: you should use them to separate independent clauses.

Glue test

Everywhere. A couple of self-tappers while you're at it too.
5. Did you use a comma where you should have used a semicolon? The true degradation of the written word...

Quooker

Yay, let's turn this in to a thermodynamics discussion! tl;dr: Assuming good insulation of the reservoir, the energy saving will come from only heating the water you use, rather than a conventional kettle where you might boil twice water as much as you need. Plus you won't incur losses from the water to steam transition. I wonder what happens when you empty the reservoir of hot water...

Quooker

I've used a Quooker while half cut (well, 3/4 probably) and managed not to hurt myself. Like Geofferz said; you have to push the ring around the spout a couple of times and then twist it to get boiling water.
8. I had a look through the info Speedy put up. The second one is copy&paste of the first one with value added opinion. The information is poorly presented and although it references ISO5011,it appears that the tests were carried out otherwise in accordance with that standard e.g. incorrect dust grade used, no mention of whether filters were oiled as appropriate, how the filters were prepared etc... I think it's an interesting one-off test although before accepting the findings, I would like to see a full, properly prepared report on more than one sample or each filter.
9. Know anything about this Stu?

Home brew?

I've been making beer for about a year now. Mostly kits to start with but now I make everything from scratch. I enjoy the process and I end up with tasty stuff most of the time.
11. Worst: GPZ900r - forever konking out on the A2 in the winter with carb icing, heavy as a house but reasonably comfy. Best: ZX6r - sublime handling, reliable and just about enough power although more would be good.
12. 'Ta Speedy23, I'll have a look through those links. It's quite an interesting discussion and it would be good to see some properly independent data.
13. What's the source on that Speedy23?
14. Where are you? I could be persuaded to part with my CG.
15. I think if the boot was bent that far back then the foot would have snapped in half anyway.
16. Don't discount electric! My front garden and half the back is surrounded by very well established bushes and trees mostly 5-8' tall. I was battling it with a small and rather elderly trimmer and it was a right old chore. I originally wanted a petrol trimmer but because the bushes and stuff are 4-5' deep in places, weight was important when trimming the top. Also, when you look at the specs, the electric ones are often capable of chopping through much larger branches. I ended up with a long bladed Ryobi - I think it was £150ish and I whizz round the lot in no time now. Petrol wise, I would have had to spend well over three times that to get the cutting capacity and it still would have been heavy.
17. This is probably a sin but I’ve never seen scarface! Enjoy Go straight to the naughty step. Do not pass go and do not collect £200.
18. Wife's out, baby is asleep, beer is cold and Scarface is on the box.
19. What are you switching and how often will it be switched? i.e. does it have to be at hand or could it be tucked away or even triggered by something else?
20. That was my thought only 'babby' which is what someone that can't spell calls a baby. Or Trisha Goddard.
21. I liked the "What do you call a baby" question... No option for baby.

Advice on Paint

Not the brightest move - adding more energy to already hot can by giving it a shake. Not one for me thanks. Oh, and it was Mr Bean by the way, not Derek.
23. Look, I've had a Goldwing and although they are not fast by any stretch of the imagination and the acceleration won't pull your arms off, they are ridiculously comfy and solid. That's why you can chuck them around so well - they don't flex much. Plus they have the added bonus of having a hugemungous amount of beer carrying capacity while still being 4' slimmer than a GS.
24. ... Yeah, that happens too!
25. Yeah, you can really shuffle them on if need be.
