  1. Not bad is it. In The Night Garden has just started - I feel I should be smoking something to appreciate it fully.
  2. So. theft and burglary then Only IF you get caught True. He's guaranteed a clean getaway...
  3. Agreed, although I tend to use an oversized breaker bar to undo tough fittings. I've mashed my knuckles enough times and lost a few fingernails using a ratchet so am happy to go to the extra effort of grabbing a bar out of the toolbox. ... Or the air ratchet if it's really stuck and I can be arsed.
  4. Thought of another... "Yourself", "yourselves, "myself", etc instead of "you" and "me". Wife uses these words in work mode and it grates my nips.
  5. *Fro shakes bones fist and mutters to himself*
  6. "Literally" Used copiously by people who don't know what it means.
  7. Another vote for an old V70 AWD. I had one (diesel), never serviced it or gave it any sort of attention and it failed to die. After a few years I flogged it on to a courier guy who took it well over 200k before crashing it.
  8. I don't think there's a really good solution to a ganky visor. The visorcat looks a bit... humongous. I don't know about anyone else but my bars don't really offer a place for a tub with a sponge - not that I'd fancy fannying about with that on the go. As for fitting a big screen... On a Ninja?
  9. I always used Battlax as they were the original fitment on my bikes and I didn't know any better. They were fine in the dry but skittish in the cold and wet. Pilot Road 4 are ace in most conditions - I did a manky damp track day with them and they were spot on, no problems with hard braking or getting a good lean on. I could feel them start to squirm slightly when they got hot but that's not something you're likely to encounter on the road They are easily my favorite general purpose tyre - I'm looking forward to trying the next incarnation!
  10. My son is 17 months old. He's been in nursery for the last 7 months which has cost the equivalent on 1/3 of an H2. So yeah, good luck with it.
  11. This is pretty much why I got the CG. I can do my "domestic" riding and not give a shit about it. All I've done to it is stick a top box and hand muffs on it. It does exactly what it needs to do while using tiny amounts of fuel. In an ideal world it would have a bit more power as it struggles on the motorway and a stiffer frame as it can be a bit floppy in the corners when getting on.
  12. You can ask the dealer for any of those things, none of them are uncommon. I'm not sure you easy it would be to get a warranty on a bike that age - you might find it relatively expensive. Ask what the dealer's standard warranty is as they're obliged to some extent. The stuff you've listed as wanting protection from are all wear & tear which no warranty I've heard of will cover you against. You're best bet is to check or have it checked before purchase and keep up a regular service schedule.
  13. It would be interesting to do the calcs on that - given that turning water in to steam would incur losses, I suspect that there would be a net loss in power. However, there would probably be a biphasic cylinder pressure map so potentially more energy could be utilised... But the second peak would be at a disadvantageous crank angle and the exhaust valve would open shortly thereafter... [/thinking out loud] But yeah, water injection has been used on high power applications eg turbo, supercharger etc for donkeys where people couldn't manage to sufficiently cool the intake charge. It works alright but you're in the shit when you run out of water!
  14. I think there was an episode of Wheeler Dealers where they performed this treatment so it might be interesting to search out the episode and have a look. All they're doing is splitting water and burning it in the engine instead of fuel. I can't see how that would clean the shite off the back of the valves as they appear to claim but it's worth a punt I reckon, especially if they'd do a before and after dyno as a freebie.

    Smart home

I've got a Honeywell heating system I can control via an app. Does that make mine a smart home? Otherwise lights - I fitted PIR in the bathrooms as I don't like dangly cords. They're also good for confusing elderly relatives. I also have remote controlled dimmer light switches which are great for the bedroom (aaaaawww yeeeeeah). That's it for me, I can't say I'm in a rush to get anything else. Possibly zoned heating but not more than that, I just don't see the point.
  16. I meant the Chinesium big bore kits...
  17. Have you tried one of these then Bob?
  18. Interesting technical exercise I suppose. I think it was Volvo a few years back who developed a system that would park your car for you as in stop outside a shop, get out and the car would bugger off, find a space and park. Then when you'd finished it would come and pick you up. Imagine if you'd got to work and realised you'd left your pastie at home. You could just send it off to go and pick it up for you.
  19. I agree, I have the same on one of my wheels where some spud scraped it when changing a tyre.
  20. Have I ever told you about my son? He's 16 months old and quite big for his age. He likes running around, Peppa Pig, making noise, closing doors and pushing buttons. A couple of days ago while Mrs wife was getting something out of the freezer, he combined two of his favorite things by turning the freezer off and then closing the door. I found this out an hour or so ago when I went to get some meat out to defrost and noticed that everything in there had gone a bit squidgy.

    Air Rifles

Are you sure it's a nitrogen filled PCP and not a gas ram? I've got a few springers - I bought a Hassan S1000 Striker a few years ago to get back into it, I slapped a cheapie scope on it and spent ages up the range with it - I was very impressed considering it was around the £100 mark. Nice and accurate and light. Then I got a Weihrauch HK97K with a reasonable scope. The quality is phenomenal as is the accuracy, it just feels so nice to use with minimal recoil. It does weigh a bit mind you and I'm not sure I'd want to do loads of standing, unrested stuff with it. I was intending on getting a PCP but my local range closed so I've been stuck in the back garden since. My next local range had a rules list like the Bible which put me off. Don't worry about range cred, there are plenty of nobbers with all the flash gear who spend ages setting up their gear and lining up a shot. Then there are those who bring what they've got, get on with it and slot round after round on target. Same as biking really. Can you get to a dealer and shoulder a few?
  22. You say that but a guy I know of lost his eye the other day thanks to a nob with an air rifle.
  23. To be fair, yours looks a lot less shit than mine! I really like the ball valves, they're a nice touch.
  24. Interesting. I made an offset-esque smoker from couple of gas bottles recently but haven't tried it out yet. Mainly because wife greeted it with magnificent praise saying: "What the f**k is that?!" followed by much laughter. I'm doing pulled pork this year but I don't think I'm brave enough to use it as my first smoking experiment!
  25. I dropped my newly purchased GPZ900 at school. Not just at school but right in front of the main building at break time. I leathered up, got on and realised the keys were still in my pocket so stood up a bit to reach in and get them... Over it went - Crash! I still had a few months of school left and I got the piss ripped royally at every rugby practice and match.
