1. Alright Bonio. You might be surprised by a "road bike only" day - an awful lot of people turn up with their bikes on trailers. I've done a few noddy days - most recent was last year with a mate who wanted to get on track before his wife forced him (against his will) to sell his Nissan GTR. Personally, I found the noddy days waaaaay more relaxed than any other type because almost all of the people actually are novices. You still get Mr Big Bollocks who gives it large in the paddock and then laps like he got stabilisers but that's part of the fun. On the subject of paddocks - on noddy days you actually have a chance of getting in them - anything else and it gets really hierarchical and a pain in the arse. Noddy days often have a bit of free tuition in the paddocks too. Things like what lines to take on track, body positioning etc... Any reason you're not doing Snetterton? I rate that as the top beginner track as it's long, wide, has loads of run off and great fun. Also it's quite close to you.
2. I've got that one - works fine.
3. Just keep a lookout on eBay and the like. It took me months and months but I finally found a mint side panel for my Whinja - all you need is patience.
4. I think that was a joke from Westbeef... There are some S1000rr people on here who might be interested in your parts. There's also some people interested/involved with racing who would probably like to hear about/see your racing stuff too so bung up an intro and give us a peek!
5. In the past I've cannibalised a set of over ear headphones and used velcro to stick them in place. I managed to get them to fit in the bit where the straps disappear in to the lining so I guess it will depend on your lid as to whether you could do the same.
6. Nice one Mega. A clutch is just about the only thing I've not had call to do so I appreciate having a shufti!
7. Union = Proper rugby. League = Touch rugby.
8. Some have flounced, one got the boot. I think there was an identity crisis too. Don't know about the rest. Mr B is floating around somewhere though.
9. Is it a lock in the side of the steering tube? A locksmith should be able to sort one for you.
10. Just start it from scratch. The connectors are cheap as chips from RS components.
11. Very nice Mr B. Good to see you back too!
12. Order a blank from eBay and get it cut at your local key place. If it doesn't work on it's own but does when you hold the original near the headstock then you have a chip.

Free tip

Surely the thread title should be "Hot tip".
14. cockercas is the guy to ask because he does it! It's all well and good using someone else's bike but that gets very expensive very quickly. I did one track day on my road bike, loved it and wanted more. I didn't want to knack my bike so I got a cheap track bike (£700-£800 I think). That was great because I didn't care about dropping it... Then I needed new tyres (Supercorsas). Then I fiddled with the engine and had some dyno time. Then I decided to upgrade the shock and have the forks rebuilt to my weight and riding style. I also needed a trailer to get it to the track. And a towbar for the car. Oh, and the cost of track time. Then I stuck a turbo on it. TL:DR it's an expensive hobby whichever way you do it.
15. Well I'll be safe so long as they don't invent a robot capable of pushing a button every 1/2 hour to 45 mins.
16. Oh... Well if there are no rent boys or coke than I won't bother doing one then.
17. Shows what I know about the football innit.
18. I had to look this up... England got beaten by that massive footballing superpower: Belgium.
19. My neighbour, nobhead, who decided the best time to start spray painting things in his garden was just after I'd started cooking on the BBQ. I wouldn't mind but the guy is retired and does nothing with his life.
20. What I don't understand is why Hoggs hasn't busted in and told you lot to play nice.
21. Same here. I was expecting £50 tops! BIKERDAD, check the consumption of the things you run and treble it - this is the "safe" rating of wire you'll need to run from the battery to a junction box. You'll also need to stick a fuse at the battery end - this can be just over the consumption value of all your stuff. You could do the junction as a mini fuse panel with a relay driven by the sidelight or something. Have a look at RS Components for all the connecty bits and bobs. You could probably put something together for £20ish depending on how swish you make it.
22. You used a printer - Pah! Infernal high-technology. I scratch route instructions in to my tank using a piece of knapped flint.

Math Help

I got the same answers as you.
24. Alright dudes. I've just bought a tasty floor mounted pillar drill so my little bench mounted number is up for grabs! It's a Clarke CDP5DD. It's a few years old but in great condition as you can see. I've only used it for metal which it handles fine with decent drill bits. The table, which is unmarked, can be adjusted for height and angle. The chuck and key are both present. Here is some more info on it. These go for around £50 on eBay so howabout £45 or reasonable offer. You can collect from me near Bury St Edmunds or I'm happy to drop it by yours if I'm going past. Cheers, Fro

Maybe he just thinks you're the top man for the job. But yeah, polarity on coils don't make no neverminds. I've certainly put them on both ways and it didn't make a jot of difference. Have a look at where/how your coils fit. My ZXR for example has one straight spade and one angled spade per set of coil wires because it wouldn't fit if they were both straight.
