  1. How did your wet tyres work out? I'm fishing about for some and wondered how you rated them.
  2. Are they the correct sizes in there at the mo? I'd be tempted to get a fresh set of jets and screws in case the old ones are damaged (easily done) and sonicate the carb body. Changing the jet sizes only works if you know everything else is functioning correctly. From what you've said, it sounds like you still have a blockage.
  3. Have you cleaned it? Get some spray carb cleaner (£6-7 from Halfords), take all the jets, screws, tubes, floats etc out of the carb and spray it in all the knooks and crannies and through any holes and such.
  4. ...When bacon tasted like bacon... Don't blame you mate, that bird on the bike is a bit ragged.
  5. Depressing isn't it, I'm 33 and have to work more years than I've been alive before I reach the current retirement age.
  6. I think he's more likely to pull you off in a pink shirt chum.
  7. Gautrek - mythical Norse character. Most of Scandinavia is in the EU. You going to change your forum name then?
  8. Pros: you get a bit more power. Cons: you might have to mess about with carb jetting a bit. Worth a punt if you're going to keep it for a while. If you're only going to have it a few months - not so sure. You'd probably get better money selling an unmolested bike.
  9. Quality game. Had my PS2 out the other week - San Andreas and Gran Turismo - lovely. Are the newer systems that much better? If you're not much bothered about doing online stuff, is there really a huge amount of difference?
  10. Those were the days Bob and Hoggs! Rip the choke cable out then wedge a matchstick in the mechanism until it's warm.
  11. Make one! Grab a selection of o ring cord and some glue and just make one up. Super cheap and incredibly handy to be able to conjure up the exact o ring when you really need one (usually about 16:13 on a bank holiday Sunday).
  12. So it was working fine, something happened (didn't you drop it or something) and now it doesn't. You know the carb(s) is/are flooding which is apparently a result of the incident therefore you don't need to change the carb settings. EAB has told you the likely cause of the flooding - something is up with the float assembly. All you'll need to do is take the carb off, undo probably four screws to take the carb bowl off then wiggle the floats up and down a bit to see if the fuel stops flowing when they're raised. Bung it back together and you're done.
  13. It's not a nice thing to do to your bike and it'll be a slag to ride. Personally, I wouldn't.
  14. Thanks man. Good to know not to bend them up. I'm intending on Snet on 12th to get my eye in for the year so I doubt I'll make it to Cadwell.
  15. Where did you get your price from bud? Seems quite steep to me considering there are plenty of newer bikes out there with much lower mileage for sub 1k.
  16. Alright then, I'll let you have that. There seem to be cheapies, not so cheapies and expensive. I'm erring towards Diamond in the middle category but it would be good to hear what people are using.
  17. Pffft, you expect me to take nearly two decades of actual experience of someone you know over something I saw on the internet? At best it's far fetched.
  18. But the internet Stu. The internet...
  19. I've "heard" (on the internet) that sticking anything over the warmers can cause firey nastiness.
  20. What have you got? Are they any good and would you recommend them? I want to grab a set so feedback on yours would be good. Cheers, Fro
  21. I thought it was quite a fun programme. Coulthard came across as a bit of a condescending nob at times but the bike did extremely well considering the colossal cost and support difference. Anyone can waltz in to a showroom and lay cash down for a bike that's not far off what Guy was riding - what was the F1 car? £4 million or something?
  22. Assuming you haven't got a hole or fracture in the bottom part of the fork, you should take a look at the stanchions and see if you've got any dents or scratches. Also take a look at the dust covers and seals.
  23. I've only done a few k on my PR4 so far and they barely look touched. When I read the reviews before purchasing them, many people claim to have done 12k+ with ease. So much better than the OEM Bridgestones I was using before.
  24. PR3 or 4. Best all rounder I've had. Still not had a slip out of them even right to the edge.
