  1. Plus the air pressure inside the forks will rise with temperature. Console yourself that they were shagged anyway.
  2. Just a quick H&S update. I was out in the garden and got a whiff of fuel - I followed my nose to the garage and found petrol pissing all over the place. One of my 5l containers had ruptured on the side where it's embossed with the makers mark and a good 3 litres had sprayed out of the pinhole. I've moved everything out of the puddle and hopefully nothing will make the garage explode while it evaporates off. Unfortunately, there were some plastics bits on the shelves below which are now shagged. It also got all over my new tyres that are awaiting fitting and I'm hoping they won't be knackered... If you've got any fuel containers, do yourself a favour and crack the tops off half a turn before they pop!

A couple of days ago I saw three very nerdy looking types walking about the science park holding their phones out infront of them. Head geek said "I saw one here at 2 yesterday". Thanks to this thread I now know what they were talking about. Well done TMBF people although I fear exposing these people to the outdoors, to which they are likely unaccustomed, may well bring about a spike in reports of allergies at the GP's surgery.
  4. I like the penis cloud photo.
  5. Pretty much what hoonie says. It's not vital but will stop crap ending up on top of the engine. It's not in bad shape so you should be able to refit it if you pop the tank off.
  6. I just went from an E-go to a Kangrer subvod mega TC this week. It's a bit odd breathing it straight down to start with. I prefer the pencil type to the boxy ones and don't really see what the big deal is about blowing massive clouds. I can't have more than a few goes on the new one whilst driving before the car starts filling up! I mulled over getting a rebuildable one before I got the subvod as I like a tinker but I just want to screw the thing together, fill it up and go. I much prefer vaping to smoking except when the thing leaks a bit and you end up smelling of raw liquid.
  7. Is that one of their 2 day specials or have you got a brucey discount code? I'd be in the noddy group anyway as I've only done Cadwell a couple of times.
  8. Sounds like you're taking the right approach to riding. Unfortunately there are many nobs who think L-plates are some sort of invisibility cloak but you're doing the right thing by keeping out of their way and not getting involved. Wind on light bikes is always a problem - you just need to deal with it until you get something with a bit more heft. Pinlocks are great as already mentioned. Have you tried your local IAM people to se if they can do a ride or two with them? Generally speaking they're a good bunch who like helping fellow bikers. Otherwise, how about posting up on here in the ride-out section and joining in with a local social ride.
  9. 2:12... Yeah, that's quite a bit quicker than me. Last time out my best was 2:16. Mind you, I heard today my wheels are finally done and my forks have been sorted so hopefully I'll be out and about before too long. Might have to go to Cadwell as there's not much doing at Snet. T1 - Cocker is bang on, you're off the bike a bit but you need to get your body down and round the tank. The chin on the hand thing is the right idea and there's nothing wrong with practicing in the garage when nobody is looking. How many days have you done? It took me a few before I got the swing of things. Also, I see you're on a newish bike which probably won't help - I was worried about binning mine so I got a cheap old thing as a track toy.
  10. Stick them up here mate, no need to be shy. I had stock pegs until recently and scraped them and my boots, even if I hung my bollocks right out. Still waiting to get some spare time to test the new ones out...
  11. Record flight cases can be had for small money if you don't mind a bit of adaptation. Various ex-MOD cases come up quite regularly at specialist auctions too.
  12. Do you use an adhesive? Check both ends of the grips as they can foul a bit if you push them on a bit to far or not quite enough.
  13. Where are you spuds? You might be local to a friendly and helpful forum member. Or Hoggs.
  14. When it's been running with the issue, are all the exhaust headers hot or is one a bit cooler than the others?
  15. Well that went off track pretty quickly! I'm picking up a bit of a "no" vibe...
  16. My girlie has a massive needle phobia and she needs to get rid of it. A few people have mentioned hypnotherapy as a possible solution but I don't know anyone who has had it done. Have you had it, how long did it take and did it work? Cheers, Fro
  17. I had the same thought, the smaller the kit the better.
  18. I've used Nikwax spray in the past and it was okay. Best thing I've used is Fabsil brush on stuff - takes a while to do all the prep and get a couple of coats on but it's worth it. I only use it on the wife's soft top these days which is outside year round and hasn't failed.
  19. So... time for track fun?
  20. Two blokes walk in to a pub. The first one goes up to the bar and says "I'll have a pint of H2O". The second one says "I'll have a pint of H2O too". The second bloke died.
  21. Accuweather says rain! The open pitlane towards the end of the month is supposed to be dry...
  22. What's the weather going to be like?
  23. Check my previous reply - I pressed submit early by accident.
  24. Yes. The tube is the drain for the carb for exactly the purpose you're need! Pull the tube up from wherever it goes and turn the screw a bit so fuel flows through it. Have the fuel tap set to off and drain the fuel in the carb into a jar or something and see what it's like. You may need to open the screw up a fair way without taking it out completely to get any large chunks of crud out.
  25. Happy Birthday young man.
