  1. We've got the majority of infrastructure in place already and just about enough electricity generation capacity for us to all switch to EV cars now. Unfortunately we're decommissioning some of our older power plant so generating capacity is shrinking - we'll need a few more nukes to keep us afloat in the future as "green" electricity just ain't gonna cut the shit for a good while yet. The conclusion of my dissertation (which was on this stuff) was that we need a cheap and simple aftermarket unit we can strap to cars to capture the energy wasted is braking and exhaust heat to tide us over until someone comes up with a good long term solution.
  2. It duzn't got nun.
  3. But... but... you're WRONG* *I have no evidence either way.
  4. Bloody hell mate, don't let SCM see that or she'll shit her pants.
  5. One of the biggest advantages I can see is that I could cane it everywhere and not give a shit about fuel cost. Do you remember when fuel was cheap? I didn't care that my car did sub 20 mpg because it cost so little to fill it up. Nowadays a tank is about £90 which is a bit much to rag it everywhere. Roll on the leccy - more money for tyres.
  6. But there's U, V & W connectors on this thing and that thing... F*ck it, I'll just connect the colours so they match then go on about having to fiddle the phase angles in the software for ages.
  7. During ride: Wow, like, it's so frikkin' fast. I can't believe it's so frikkin' fast. It like pulls like a train man. After ride: Wow, like, I got up to 54 mph... Has this guy ever ridden a bike before?

    Overheating?

I don't get worried unless steam starts pouring out of somewhere.
  9. Can you get to the wires to the switch? If you can (and have a multimeter) you can measure the resistance across the switch while you're actuating it. If there's high resistance during operation then it could use a clean up. It would also be worth checking the connections to and from the relay & starter while you're at it to narrow down the fault.
  10. Bloody result she's gone over there.
  11. Nothing on the cards at the other place then?
  12. Were you using flux cored wire on those? It looks like you've got very little fusion on a couple of those eyes - I'd be concerned that they might pop off.
  13. Materials have gone chicken oriental. It cost me a grand for the shed materials, it's costing another grand for 18 metres worth of fence panels, posts and gravel boards when they can get them.
  14. Cheers mate, I can't wait to start!
  15. I got offered a nice engineering job yesterday so I'm finally getting out of science.
  16. Handed in my notice today... It feels good.
  17. An ex girlfriend found some jonnies in my biker jacket. They were for waterproofing my satnav too.
  18. It's thermodynamics exam day - Yaaaaay! 5 years of learning condensed in to a nice 3 hour exam. I just can't wait!
  19. Have you got another joke for the younger generation?
  20. This was supposed to be "mid oak" or something. I tried exo creosote but it was absolute guff - I would have preferred something quite a bit darker.
  21. Now you're talking my language sweetie.
  22. Who's what?
