  1. I'll add heartburn and achy balls.
  2. True story: Several hundred years ago when I was plod, I was driving a cell van (LWB Sprinter) through a one way street in Gravesend. Bare in mind that the van was very big, white with blue lights, battenberg, a riot cage and "Police" in big letters all over it. As I got to the top of the road, some bloke saw me, wobbled about a bit and still turned in to the road so he was nose to nose with me. The guy was a f*cking genius.
  3. It's not the end @fastbob, I expect fairly soon that someone of some influence will discover that electric vehicles are nett less fuel efficient that the stuff we chug about in now.
  4. Good point about the CB boys, I hadn't considered that. I found a local bloke on FB who's happy to have a look. So long as he doesn't rip the arse out if it then we're all good. @paulc - That's the company I've contacted and am still waiting... I think I must have read just about every thread on the internet about problems with these frigging boards!
  5. Can't be done @husoi, they're long defunct! I've cobbled together an alternative to power the feed motors for now but it would be good to have it running the original gear. @Bender - I've tried that forum for stuff in the past and it's not been the most helpful. There is a company that will do an exchange refurbishment but they've not replied to my emails. I know some people have an interest in fixing up this kind of stuff and keep components in stock. I have two types of diode in the garage and that's it!
  6. You know it! I'm already on the yahoo group. I've got the diagram but have little time or interest in troubleshooting it. Just though I'd throw it out to anyone who can fix it in exchange for cash.
  7. Alright dudes. Is anyone out there a whizz at fixing up old circuit boards? The control board on my mill is knacked and needs a bit of attention - It's popped the main power input traces a couple of times by the look of it. Here's a pic of the offending article. As you can see, it's of a certain vintage!
  8. You wot? £75 of fuel gets me 650 - 700 miles in ridiculous comfort with 300+bhp on tap. Plus all the bodies from the weekend's shenanigans in the boot. @goat What about an older V70 diesel? They can be had for peanuts.
  9. That has been my experience in the past - promote them out of harms way. It makes me feel taken for granted and dicked over so I'm going to have a chat with one of our competitors who has been trying to poach me for the past 4 years.
  10. Great news! One of the colleagues in my team who has been on every type of furlough, thus not actually in work for most of the year, has been promoted! I feel great that I busted my balls to cover all the work he wasn't doing.
  11. I'm aware of MAG and have know a few members over the years. Some of the things I've seen them getting all pissy pants about have been ridiculous and the members I've known have been overbearing, small minded, power tripping cretins.
  12. Arbitrary amounts of choke i.e. half or full rarely work. I've not had a choked vehicle that didn't need fine adjustment of the lever to make it not sound like a bag of spuds before it warmed up. Try it next time you start up - set the choke off and engage the starter while slowly increasing the amount of choke. Once it fires up, gently decrease or increase the choke until it runs okay.
  13. Also Gareth, bide your time. My experience is that if you rush about looking for something then you usually over pay or end up with a complete dog. Waiting a bit with something in mind often turns up a gem at a steal.

    Welcome ZX7R

Erm... What's wrong with the ZXR?
  15. Finish uni and sell the CG - possibly the turbo too. Make roads in to increasing my sideline business although that depends on what happens with Corona.
  16. I thought I'd find out about the start-stop battery as it rarely works these days due to "Battery Charge". It's hidden behind the bumper and the front of the car has to come off to change it. Sod that! At least with the BMW it's just a single massive battery in the boot.
  17. I've just changed the battery in the Volvo... Why in the name of buggery do they make it so difficult? Undo seven bazillion screws, take the airbox out, remove the mounting plate, wiggle the battery out through a jungle of wires that are only just long enough then the reverse to get the new one in... It's taken me nigh on an hour to do. Oh, plus it's so sodding cold that all the plastics are brittle.
  18. That's what I've got. Keep the chain nice and sharp and it's great.
  19. Very true but please, no matter what you do, don't flounce on us.
  20. I presume you mean annals of time... Get it right, I'm sick of having to correct you.
  21. Well done @fastbob, a well deserved award!
