  1. I find mine a bit clunky at low to medium revs while pootling around but nice and slick up the rev range when giving it some beans. Mine is a homebrew system though but it works on the same principle.
  2. Me. I left the car door open last night. Not just a little bit open but full on get-the-baby-out-of-the-back open. There was frost on the inside of the windows this morning. Just lucky it didn't rain!
  3. Back in the 80s a guy in Herne Bay used a live WW2 shell to poke his badminton trials back up his arse.
  4. The only person in my family I knew that served was my great uncle "Dinger". I only ever saw him every few years when I visited my great nan in Brecon in the 80s/90s. I was only a little kid so didn't get any stories but I do remember he usually had an incredible sun tan.
  5. I guess it works if all you ever do is potter up & down straight roads.
  6. Hmm, I see. Although "yes, yes, etc" and shouting are withing my skill set, I recently up-skilled to "f*ck off I'm not interested" with an advanced module of "why are you bothering me with this shit?" I believe this makes me the standout candidate for all and any high ranking position while attracting at least double the normal salary.
  7. How much and would I have to do any work?
  8. You're not the only one!
  9. You could do it hydraulically or, if you're only really using it when stationary, you could rig a cable to the original lever up to a thumb lever on a handlebar. The cable option would be considerably easier and cheaper.
  10. Is your floor flat and smooth or does it have that ripply finish?
  11. The smaller turbo engines are generally more highly strung than ye-olde bigger displacement units. From what I've read, a lot of failures come down to poor maintenance rather than inherent faults in the design. 10+ years ago it didn't really matter if you went well over the service milage but with turbos you really have to stick to the book to avoid gumming them up. I've rebuilt a fair few turbos over the years and it's easy to see which ones come from poorly maintained motors as they're chock full of gak from where the oil was well past it's best.
  12. Ooh, get you mr lah-de-dah. It's a pint of Stella in my house or you can get your nancy corpse out of my gaff.
  13. Imagine having that much time on your hands that you can trawl the internet for information and regurgitate it with your name on, calling it your work.
  14. If you remove the ethanol then you'll alter the octane rating (in a bad way) which could cause knock and bugger your engine.
  15. It's bollocks. The bearings are housed in huge aluminium heat sinks - the swing arm and wheel - which will dissipate heat far quicker than a bit of air wafting over them.
  16. @All_Electrons_No_Regen - why don't you post a bit about your build? I'd be interested to see what you're doing and I expect others would be too.
  17. Beyond that I don't know. If it were me, I'd just follow suit of other manufacturers i.e. on the head tube or the frame bottom tube. It could be worth contacting VOSA/DVSA and see what they say as there might be stipulations around font type/size.
  18. There's the SVA handbook published on the transport office website which should be helpful.
  19. I have in the past used split steering rack gaiters on small bikes. They don't look too bad.
  20. I have two sets of advice... For the young 'uns coming up: Don't get married Don't have children Big tits at 20, fat wife at 40 Always look at the mother For my children: Kids are great, they're the best thing in the world. You should definitely have them, especially as your career is really taking off! Revenge is a long game.

Think yourself lucky, one of the guys at work had his dog's teeth done - £3.5k that set him back!
  22. I've been up in the loft today replacing a noisy and not very sucky fan in the ensuite. You just know the last guy did a quality job when you see stuff like this:
  23. You could try "You should see the state of my bollocks!" as a comeback. You might even get some takers.
  24. I'm surrounded by thr elderly where I live. One side I have "the pikies" who's house and garden are jammed with junk including two caravans in which the son (two years older then me) lives. The other side are an even older couple with a curtain twitcher who was "just polishing the window cill" when she saw whatever she's moaning on about this time. Plus the same old stories again and again. The poor brow beaten husband likes the wife's sports car so likes to have a look at it now and again.
