  1. Meanwhile, Boris Johnson, a man absolutely adamant he should stay on office until a new leader is elected, has f**ked off on holiday whilst the rest of country faces the worst cost of living crisis fora generation. Wonder if he’s back at Lebedev’s sex dungeon in Italy - trading government secrets for sexual favours (again). Sunak, on the other hand, is promising to divert funds from the poorest areas in society to the wealthiest, with Truss is promising billions in unquantifiable, unfunded spending whilst simultaneously promising to target the welfare payments of the most needy in society. Like I said, radical with poor peoples money. *****, the lot of them.
  2. Really? Can you elaborate on the hypocrisy part? You realise that Lynch was elected by his fellow members, right?
  3. The Tories are always prepared to be radical with poor peoples money. f**k em. RMT has my full support.
  4. Is this actually true? Does an engine really need exhaust back pressure? For what purpose?
  5. I imagine strong gusts of wind will have more impact on your power than changing the end can.
  6. Mine sets some poor buggers car alarm off in the work car park. It’s very obnoxious, but I can’t be arsed to put the stock pipes back on. (It also sounds amazing).
  7. Oh, if you don’t have a camera strapped to your (bike) helmet, get one. Pronto.
  8. Almost 2 years to the day since my accident, 3rd party finally accepts full liability and pays out (damages). Interestingly, my own insurers legal advice last year was to accept 50/50! w**kers.
  9. I’ve had two written off with post-purchase mods like full-exhaust, LED’s, mirrors, tailtidys, the lot. Insurers never said a thing. *just read Stu’s post. Probably why.
  10. Not sure why you asked the question in the first place, Geoff. Did you get bored of fighting with your shadow or something? Do you also consult Reddit before wiping your arse or rubbing one out? (I’m just kidding). I think we all respect that you think 999cc and above should be beyond the reach of newly licenced riders, but not everyone agrees. Newly licenced riders come in all shapes, sizes, ages and all with varying degrees of common sense (or lack of). It’s a far more nuanced discussion than you realise; there’s no one rule that applies to new riders.
  11. Electronics packages, these days, are absolutely superb, too. I think that nullifies 90% of what historically would have been “too much” for inexperienced riders. TC and ABS on bikes like the current gen S1KRR are just phenomenal. They really do eliminate so much rider error. All that’s left is high speed and an absolutely whopper of a bellend rider who’s asking for trouble. (And other road users - who are a problem regardless of the bike). I personally wouldn’t recommend a motorcycle to anyone under 30. I think they require a certain level of road experience regardless of size (and that’s based on a sample size of one - me).
  12. I like that other peoples opinions from other forums are used as evidence supporting his POV, but ours are completely disregarded.
  13. 125s can get the better of any biker. It’s all relative. Ride like a **** and it’s highly likely your going to have an accident, regardless of the bike.
  14. Firstly, get the bike YOU want; pay no attention what anyone else thinks. A bike will only be as fast and powerful as you ride it. Secondly, (as per point one, disregard after reading ) doesn’t matter how complex it is. The only maintenance required of you is to tension and lube the chain, keep an eye on the brake pads and air in/tread on the tyres. The rest is for the OEM. Any failures or issues will be down to them to resolve. If you want it go for it. I can’t think of anything worse than owning a bike i didn’t want. (Apart from no bike at all)
  15. Hi Ian, ”Title” refers to the title of the the thread, not your name. The fact that you assumed that makes you my new favourite poster, however. Welcome to the forum and good luck!
  16. When you ride in France, every biker waves at you. Even the pillion (although there seems to be some worldwide silent agreement to ignore mopeds). So it was quite disappointing returning to the UK only to be blanked by the majority of passing bikers.
  17. I mean there’s patient, and there’s sitting at the mouth of a tunnel for 45 minutes, twice a day.
  18. Much to my ire, I often get stuck filtering at the Blackwall behind some turd on a GS fully laden with 5000 litre panniers, so feel I can offer some useful perspective here. Conventional bikes filter just fine, however as the 3 lanes begin to converge down to 2, the lanes get narrower and filtering becomes a bit trickier. Sometimes you can sail through, others you have to wait for either a gap in the cars or for someone to notice you and make an effort to squeeze over for you to pass through. Either way, take your time, and filter at a sensible speed. The mouth of Blackwall (Northbound) is notorious for impatient drivers changing lanes without looking and without any concern for filter motorcyclists. Good luck.
  19. Private property, so if that’s what they require for me to buy fuel then fine, no problem. Although I make a point of putting it back on before going in store. It shouldn’t make any difference, and rarely does, but occasionally it pisses them off.
