  1. The heat complaint surprises me; I rode for 5 days in minus temperatures through northern France (a low of -5) on the Amber setting and the Gerbing gloves performed admirably. I felt toasty the whole time. The red setting got painfully hot after 10-15 minutes.
  2. With the Gerbing gloves, the hottest two settings are locked out. You have to do some weird button combo to unlock it.
  3. Some great discounts to be had - just bagged a hoodie for 60% off. Hoodie here: https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/768653 https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_search?s=spada&sort=date_desc&nm[price.discount]=30%3A
  4. Not with my bike, but with my heated jacket - for the 2nd time since i purchased it in Dec 2022, the sleeve connector has failed. That means, since purchasing the jacket and gloves from Gerbing, i've had the right glove fail once and the jacket sleeve connector twice. On both previous occasions, the repair has been carried out under warranty. This time i had to repair it myself, which took about 10 minutes to cut and wire a new connector. The issue appears to be that there is no slack on the cables, so the connectors are always under tension when trying to connect the glove to the sleeve. So with that in mind, i've given myself some more slack in the cable which should give it a bit more longevity next winter.
  5. I went with an end can over te full system; i really cant be arsed with remapping and all that jazz.
  6. Why bike manufacturers include so many spare screws.
  7. I’ve used Gerbing heated gloves to ride around France at -4 while feeling like it was summer. Heated gear is a game changer… If you can be bothered with the faff of connecting of it all up. As for Gerbing, I need to update my review on here. Their connectors are weak, and are prone to failure if connected/disconnected frequently. I’ve sent my heated jacket back once already for repair, plus had my heated gloves replaced under warranty due to a cable failure. My heated jacket has just failed again also.
  8. Dilemma - Titanium headers or not? The full system on my S1000R was obnoxiously loud on a cold start as the engine would overrun at high revs for 30 seconds (which the M1000R also does) before settling down to something more civil. However, the Euro5 bread bin does a great job of making the bike sound like battery powered drill. That, and it looks absolutely hideous. Alternative (and for a similar price) is a aftermarket end can and a carbon bellypan to cover it up.
  9. 1st service. All 14,000RPM now unlocked.
  10. That’s a superb outcome. Great work. i haven’t decided if im prepared to let it go yet, or not.
  11. Used it twice today to turn off the bike.
  12. Congratulations. Yes, buy the bike that you want!! There’s no worse feeling seeing the bike you actually want whilst riding one you don’t. Enjoy!!
  13. I’ll make a habit of using the side stand kill switch from now on.
  14. No. You're fine.
  15. They're all designed to do the job.
  16. £100 off of a Nolan Helmet. Well happy with that.
  17. I have a Sen 50R and a Paktalk Edge. Prefer the Sena because the battery appears to be some form of small-scale nuclear reactor that never needs recharging. Cardo looks better and has a slimmer profile. Sound quality is similar on both. That it's a faff to get both to talk to each other is another thing entirely.
  18. Unbelievable weather yesterday. 17deg-C in London/Kent. Had a lovely ride with the lad in tow on his CB125R
  19. Got pissed off with my camera never being on when something happens due to the batteries being too weak, so I have bought a GoPro Hero 12. I got a 15% student discount which softened the blow. I may be able to extend that discount to anyone here who's interested. Let me know.
  20. Some sort of faith-based manoeuvre. I look, the bike goes.
  21. My lad passed his CBT last week, and naturally, we took advantage of a break in the rain to go for a ride around the Kent countryside to get his confidence up ahead of him going it alone (he’s 17). As we made our way back along a national speed limit single lane carriageway, some utter w**ker in a Focus decided he couldn’t abide a learner going 5-10mph under the speed limit on a 125 with L plates, so sat right up his arse trying to intimidate him. I slowed to to allow the boy to close up, and let this gimp pass, and, as he did, I let him know what i thought of his driving by waving with the back of my hand. Taking offence, he decided to break check me, then try and swerve into me as I dodged around his drivers side (narrowly missing him). I was absolutely raging at this point (still am), so I told the lad to pull up in the lay-by and wait whilst I deal with this twat. Followed him for literally about 3 mins until the helmet pulls up outside his house and refuses to leave his car. Finally gets out and doesn’t have the sack to admit what he’d tried, denying it and blaming my lad ‘for going too slow’’. As it turns out the lad followed me, so I left it at that and we rode off. However I just cannot let it slide at the moment. The driving was a disgrace, and cannot go unpunished. It was that bad that, had I filmed it, I’d have submitted it to the old bill. Fuming.
  22. It’s busy, but not uncomfortably so. Enough to see for everyone to have a good time.
  23. It sits unused, but looking wonderfully cleaned and serviced (thanks to me) in the work basement. he’s paid up for parking too. Twat.
