  1. Agreed it does look like a nasty dent, however get one of the dent removal guys to take a look at it, they can work miracles.
  2. The fan blades will catch the majority of the overspray.
  3. The main problem with "Mock Maintenance" is once you have put it all back together again you don't know if you fixed it because it wasn't broke in the first place.
  4. If pulling a good bike apart and putting it back together again is your thing, then feel free to enjoy yourself. I'll stick to riding mine and repair it when it breaks down, however having an FJR it could be a long time coming. I'm all in favour of preventative maintenance.
  5. Repairs will come soon enough without going looking foe them. Haynes manuals and Youtube will give you an insight.
  6. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
  7. And if the truth be known any modern tyres are far better than we are of testing them to the limit
  8. I don't doubt other peoples accounts but can only speak as I find and Michelins are off my tyre list. I like Avons, Pirellis are good and at the moment after swearing never to use Bridgestones again I have a set of T30 evo and they have been fine.
  9. Is that it? Just pictures, tell us what it's like and what you think of it.
  10. They maybe, but the Highway law is enshrined within acts of Parliament, the Highway Code reflects the law, and like I said, it’s a good reference, it also serves to prevent the general public from having to interpret a lot of legal jargon. This is what the RAC quote: “taken alone the Highway Code is not the law. But many of its instructions are backed up by law and so have legal muscle behind them. Those points supported by the law are clearly identified in the document by wording like 'MUST', 'MUST NOT', rather than 'should' or 'should not'.13 Mar 2018” Swat I sed innit
  11. I must say the PR4s were the worst tyre I have ever had, maybe I got some duff ones. I can only comment on my own experience, the PR3s were OK but not exceptional. The Angel GT get good reviews everywhere the Angel GT II haven't been out long enough for reviews to be meaningful yet. In a tyre shoot out a couple of years ago the Angel GT was excluded as it was so much better than the other tyres in the shoot out. I'll see if I can find out what the other tyres were.
  12. Some aspects of the highway code are legal requirements.
  13. As already said, reading the highway code is always a good idea.
  14. I found the tracking on PR4s was horrendous, the slightest deformation in the road surface and the PR4s would make a dive for it. Pirelli Angel GT or GT II
  15. That's why I posted the link, you're not going to get a really cheap one if they sell second hand for nearly the price of new.
  16. If you want to stick to the letter of the law you shouldn't be in a cycle box, you should stop at the main stop line.

  18. Thanks MY point was it's to be expected in exceptionally heavy rain.
  19. I have an idea, it doesn't like water, it's a bike not a submarine
  20. The OP might, or should get a few miles under the belt before unleashing an R1.
  21. It's strange that when overtaking a cyclist they want a huge gap but when filtering up the inside of an artic at traffic lights they only need a few inches
  22. Nothing wrong with speed as long as it's in the right place. Public roads are not the right place unless you happen to be in Germany.
  23. If WD40 cures the problem then you must have water ingress, double check everything and make sure the plug lead seal properly.
