  1. Sorry, I am unable to provide a no risk strategy to living your life. I'm happy to live my life taking calculated risks and enjoy life because of them. Good luck living life risk free.
  2. Still low risk considering other situations such as keyworkers going to work, supermarkets, essential travel, people congregating in parks and beaches. Definitely low risk compared with interacting with my patients with minimal PPE. Filling up with petrol? With gloves and hand-wash the risk is reduced significantly.
  3. MAG are encouraging bikers to submit questions about riding after the relaxation of rules on Wednesday. I've submitted a question to be considered for the daily government press conference: 'I would like to ask about the use of motorcycles after the easing of restrictions. I work for the NHS as a nurse and also enjoy riding motorcycles in my free time which has huge benefits to my physical and mental health during my downtime from work. Firstly, I would like to ask if motorcyclists can ride their bikes as part of their daily exercise and secondly, what are the restrictions on the mileage imposed if this is allowed? To provide an example, I can ride from home, pay for petrol at the pump and after my ride, return home with zero social contact with anybody else. This appears to me to be a very low risk activity. Can you advise please.' I doubt it'll be even considered for inclusion but I would like to at least get out for a ride without any breaking rules so it's worth asking.
  4. In a way very close. Clue the bike concerned had no cam chain ! And the Autosol is only there for scale as I thought you would all be familiar with the size. Cheers Ian Mmm. Looks similar to a tool I fashioned for an old Fireblade. No cam chain has me puzzled.
  5. Cam chain tensioner tool?
  6. Tyre valve extractor?
  7. Have you cleaned it though, that's the burning question Nope
  8. Ordered some cosmetic parts to spruce it up and service parts too. Full service to be done over the next two weeks. Let's face it, I have the time
  9. Got a result with Carole Nash last week. I called them personally rather than the online comparison route. Always worth it IMO. Just bought a BMW K1200S. My no claims bonus was +10 years which ran out when I sold my last bike in October 2017. So, my NCB had gone beyond the two year grace period that is normally allowed by six months but CN honoured it and after some negotiation got my policy down to: £237 fully comp with: All legal protection UK and Europe breakdown cover with repatriation back to the UK and replacement vehicle. I have 3 points on my licence (SP50). I am never using online/comparison sites again. Phone only.
  10. Well, that was err...
  11. If I had the budget I would have gone for the K13, it's a much more sorted bike to be honest. The K12 is still an ace bike though. The engines are capable of very high mileages, there's an Italian guy on youtube whose K12 has passed the 500,000 km mark. There's a few little jobs I'd like to do to it so this lockdown will allow me to do that. Frustrating that I can't go out on a long ride though.
  12. https://i.imgur.com/nvBtYlT.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> The second K1200S I've owned. Great bikes, loved my first one. Not without their problems though, this one has had the servo bypassed which is a weak link on these bikes. Better anyway, I prefer separate brakes to linked. Great condition and I got it for a great price. Had it picked up and delivered yesterday by a professional courier so social distancing observed
  13. That's quite a challenge
  14. Yep, I'm not buying another K1200S. So, I've just bought another K1200S
  15. Might just do that!
  16. With maybe a new sense of optimism I've booked the annual leave off at work. I have to use it up anyway, with long service in the NHS I get more than enough. My main frustration is not being able to look at bikes to buy at the moment. I've seen a few I like but with restrictions on non essential travel I can't justify travelling halfway across the country to buy a bike and ride it back.
  17. Learning this on guitar. A real challenge but I have time on my side
  18. Have tickets to see them in Cardiff in June with my son. Bugger.
  19. As time moves on, mine is fading. I'm aiming for buying another bike and just getting out for a ride anywhere. Anything on top of that will be a bonus.
  20. Working. Just finished my sixth 12 hour shift this week. Looking forward to having two days off, doing sweet FA, playing xbox and binge watching Killing Eve.
  21. I'm keeping everything crossed for the trip because we'll all need a break after all of this. I know I will. I'm sat here with money in the bank ready to buy my next bike which I was meant to be doing around this time. I'm assuming it'll be a buyers market after Covid. Unfortunate for some but fortunate for me I guess. Hope you're all well, stay safe.
  22. I'm all for the contacts. I absolutely hate wearing my glasses when riding. Lenses are so good these days, I have multi focals that give me clear vision.
