1. Bloody hell Snod Blatter ! Glad to hear you weren't too badly injured, the bike can be fixed. Which you enjoy doing anyway!
2. Heading down to Brands to watch a mate race for Bemsee. Gym as usual.
3. Yep, I'm not buying another K1200S. Will be sorted at the end of the month
4. Went to look at a 'mint' Kawasaki ZX10R this morning which was a pile of shite. No biggie. There's plenty more out there. Didn't help that it was snowing when I looked at it though. It was still shite. Hit the gym twice today, one more tomorrow. Booked tickets to see Rammstein in Cardiff in June with my 17 year old son who just literally exploded when I told him
5. Sounds great. Thanks for keeping me in the loop Tony, bike purchase is going to happen soon. As soon as that's done, I'll book the tunnel
6. Interesting. Who are these specially trained people and what are their abilities? I'm genuinely interested as I'd like to learn some special abilities. As a human being I am mostly relating to sight, sound, touch, hearing and taste. They tend to work for me, haven't let me down yet. For the record, I've listened to music through earphones while riding and haven't killed myself yet.
7. I had a Lust Racing 30mm drop suspension kit on my old 929 Fireblade for 3 years. For me, I didn't need to cut down the side stand but I was mindful to park it somewhere very level. It never fell over but like I say, I was careful where I parked it.

Xmas Thread!

I'm off now until Christmas Day. Tomorrow is my Christmas Day with my son then I'm back at work on the 25th. I work in a crisis team in the NHS so Christmas Day will be quiet or busy dependent on how people are coping. Have a good one
9. Good lord man, don't tell everybody! To the OP, for the record I rode to Spain through France 3 years ago and it took around 5 days there and back and we weren't hanging around. I'd take the ferry if I was heading that way again...or just ride to Germany
10. I'm going to look at a 2002 Kawasaki ZX9R this week for £1500. If I like it, it'll get me over to Europe at least twice in 2020. Age means nowt.

Mine is from my name. Surprisingly.
12. Datatag is shit. As is Smartwater. There is no conceivable way that they can stop your motorcycle being stolen and broke up for parts. Chains and a ground anchor is the best bet. Thieves hate noise and having to use an angle grinder through a thick chain is their worst case scenario. As for alarms, forget it. When was the last time you burst into a sprint responding to a car/bike/house alarm? No, I can't remember either.
13. Best tyres I've had on a bike hands down. Grippy, handle well and superb in the wet. I went through 2 sets (12k miles) when I had my K1200s and they performed excellently throughout. Can't really comment on use in the UK as almost all of that was in Europe but I encountered all types of surface from smooth to gravel strewn roads to dirt tracks PR4s will be going on my next bike for definite.
14. "> Spain? Did it in 2016. Awesome. Well worth doing at least once in your lifetime.
15. Did my CBT and Part 2 test on a Honda CG125 in 1996 but I had been riding for 10 years on L plates prior to that. GSXR 750 was my first bike after passing my test. Car wise it was a Metro 1.3S in in 1993. The S was important as it stood for ‘shite’.
16. Great videos Snod Blatter It was torture not going anywhere last year but looking forward to getting back to the Eifel in September
17. I used to think Henry Cole was a bit of dick but after watching his trip to the Balkans I have total respect for him. Didn't realise he was a war photographer during the conflict in the mid 90's. Top bloke.
18. I've just watched all of People Just Do Nothing. My 16 year old son got me into it and I was thinking it was just for his generation but I loved it, very funny and very similar to The Office at times. In fact the writers have said that they sat around smoking weed and watching the Office while writing it. I tend to watch Inside Number 9 a lot on Netflix. I'm a huge fan of Reece and Steve from LOG, they have written some fantastic episodes. They've announced a new series too, which is awesome. Manhunter was superb on Netflix too. Second series is imminent apparently.
19. For what it’s worth, I’ve worn dark visors for over 20 years and have never been pulled for it. I tend to carry a clear visor just in case it gets dark, I sometimes forget though. A couple of years ago in Germany we were out until late and I forgot my clear visor, that was an interesting ride back to the hotel, squinting all the way with flies in my teeth
20. Yamaha FS1E in 1985, no pedals so had to bump start it. Cost £50. I remember filing a mm off the exhaust port in metalwork at school. Micron exhaust. Did 62mph on the clock First big bike was a GSXR750 in 1996 after passing my test. Jumped from a Vespa 125 to the GSXR, was quite a steep learning curve. Then a selection of very fast bikes over the years. 22 years later I haven't killed myself, which is a bonus.
21. Firstly, stop playing it You're right, it's not the guitar - it never is. If you're getting a shock it's coming from whatever it's plugged into. If it doesn't do it when plugged into the practice amp then it's the V-Amp or ordinary stereo. Check them out, or the socket they're plugged into, is earthed properly. Get the practice amp checked out too while you're at it - just in case.
22. Glad you're enjoying it mate!

Tour buddy wanted

I'd think carefully about riding there from Calais, I did it in 2016 with a mate and it was the most miserable couple of days I think I've ever had on a motorcycle. It rained pretty much all the way to Pau. If the weather had been kinder to us it might have been a little better but I just remember it being such a slog. On the upside, the Pyrenees were amazing. If I was to go to Spain again, I would get the ferry to Santander or Bilbao. Sure its expensive, but at least I would be able to put my feet up, have a few beers and get some rest before enjoying those awesome roads.
