  1. I know someone who lived in a town house so garage at the bottom and first floor was where the first available tap was! And no way to get a outside tap fitted They used to run a hose pipe out the window They had an old water butt so I told them to just fill it up then connect the pressure washer to that. They used to get a about 4 washes out of it per fill Just another idea if you have somewhere for one Sure is a great idea, unfortunately I don't have access or room for one. Bugger.
  2. Little tip for those who don't have access to a hosepipe (I live in a flat). I use one of these, £15 from Argos. Sure, it's never going to be as powerful as a Karcher but it's enough to rinse the bike off after washing. Small enough to put in a cupboard after use too. https://i.imgur.com/kCoOUIg.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>
  3. I detest cleaning bikes, I've waited a few days but I knew I has to wash off the Welsh filth I picked up so reluctantly dragged my arse out to do it. https://i.imgur.com/cL9FU9S.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Scrubs up nice, still amazed I got this for just £2k, it's been a cracking bike so far. Much better than my last K12S in fact which was visually far nicer.

I'm sure that's where I was earlier this week. Was it West Wales?
  6. IF you do decide New Forest I am based down here and might be able to give some advice (I won't guarantee the quality). This was an Adhoc run, me and friend had time and went. We actually started planning Wales, then the Forecast developed and Kent was 100% dry wales 50% chance of rain. Might of only been showers but could still leave greasy roads so in my usual manner I changed plans. I have planned countless routes and nights out planned each for there own reasons favourites being weather is good and I have not been there enough, oh and the roads are good. The deciding factor is often the weather all normally decided at the last minute which means finding riding or even camping buddies can be impossible. Thanks for that info. Adhoc is best I reckon, I rarely follow any sort of plan, I'm far too chaotic. I start with kind of a plan but it rarely ends up how I intended to be. Weather looks good for the next couple of days so I'll have a think about Kent. Thanks for the link to the campsite, it looks like a good 'un. The trip to Wales this week wore me out so a shorter trip to Kent would be ideal. I want to do something similar to you, just one night over there then ride back to Surrey before I go back to work. You dodged a bullet with Wales, we went early this week and the weather wasn't the best. Saying that we still had a great time. If I had camped I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.
  7. Great stuff. I have a couple of days of annual leave left and I'm considering a night camp somewhere. I was thinking of heading West to the New Forest but after reading your post, thinking that Kent might be a possibility
  8. Not sure Tim, there were 3 traffic light stops so I'm assuming that work is still going on. Saw the cafe when we riding though and it was packed, we weren't hungry at that point so carried on.
  9. Thanks mate. Not the best but given the circumstances, I got home with a smile on my face
  10. Just got back from two days in Wales, weather was..Welsh but still had a great time. My long time friend Andy joined me on his Suzuki Bandit and has he never toured before I figured Wales would be ideal as it is only 3.5 hours from Surrey. We crammed a lot of riding into two days, covering circa 600 miles. https://i.imgur.com/BQuXRTy.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Waiting at Rykas at Boxhill, 2 miles from where I live. We agreed to meet there at 8.30am to have a coffee before we set off. Rykas opens at 9am So we were on the M25 by 8.45am. Boring ride along the M4, across the bridge and having lunch near Merthyr by 12.30pm. https://i.imgur.com/l6Fq1KG.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Weather turned very wet so we struggled through the rain and mist to Brecon where I managed to neck a large Americano in record time. After that we headed off along the A40 to Camarthen and then various B roads to Llechryd, some of which were superb. I'll have to check my Garmin to see where we went. https://i.imgur.com/33QbRmW.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Rather than camp we chose a B&B in Llechryd, great place with ace food and only £40 each for the night. Good to see that they were Covid prepared with hand sanitisers and social distancing in place. We completed the track and trace details as we did everywhere we went. https://i.imgur.com/sl0QTpG.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/JqD0s4D.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/3O7lSsT.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Llechcryd is a nice little place, very scenic. Had a walk down to the river to work off the curry. https://i.imgur.com/suFxeET.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/mV1R4Kl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Next morning we set off quite late so with that in mind we headed back basically the way we came but that was no bad thing as we got to enjoy some of the roads we had ridden he day before. We stopped by this bridge and river just down the road from Llechryd. Stunning. https://i.imgur.com/jCaBYua.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/Xl1ZltC.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> The weather turned bad again but that didn't stop us enjoying the ride to Llandovery, plenty of overtaking going on. One bad point was that the sat nav sent us down a farm track that was too narrow to turn around so we plodded on through the drizzle, bikes were filthy afterwards. https://i.imgur.com/357gqPi.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/wmmTy6E.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Lunch in Brecon at the pub. Track and Trace done again. Then the sun came out so we managed to enjoy a decent ride through the Brecon Beacons. There was still cloud over the Black Mountain pass so I gave it a miss this time. https://i.imgur.com/I6HboQa.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/EqgGdh0.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/AbeCFHX.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Before heading home we dropped by Barry Island, I bought rock and tacky presents for friends. It was nice to see the beach though. Andy and I lost each other in Barry so we ended up riding separately for some of the way back to Surrey but we managed to catch up with each other along the way. It was a great couple of days, riding 9-10 hours each day and my mate loved it, despite the weather. I think he has the bug. We're keen to head off for a longer trip in the Spring but that depends on covid Spending today washing my bike
  11. I've just got back! Enjoy, I think you've got better weather than I had
  12. Youtube have honoured my protest about copyrighted music. It's all good again.
  13. I should use copyright free music but most of it is awful. Ah well! Oh, and I'm no Roger Whittaker
  14. Great day out! Still amazed how my 6 year old Drift Ghost HD camera captures such quality video at 1080p/60FPS.
  15. This went tits up due to a bit of ill health but I have had a few days out on the bike and I'm going to Wales next week for a couple of days. All is not lost
  16. Happy Birthday fella!!
  17. Looks awful. I think you should come home now
  18. https://i.imgur.com/oaZo3RD.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Very small addition but worthwhile. A 12v USB charger from Optimate that plugs into the DIN socket of my BMW. Switches off after 3 hours or if the battery voltage falls below 12.3v. This is great for me. I have an Anker 20,000 mAh Powerbank that I will charge during the day in my tankbag then use that overnight to charge my phone and my Drift S HD camera.
  19. Via Clervaux I hope! Love that ride into Neuerburg from Sinspelt.
  20. So summer temps then I have the liner if temps drop anyway. I don't think you'll have to worry about that
  21. Cheers, appreciate that. Especially the free part The picture of your gear you posted on your thread was really helpful. A mate of mine who lives in Kilmarnock is riding down and meeting me and then taking me on a tour of some great roads up to area. Can't wait. I have one eye on the weather for next so happy to adapt and be flexible. It is going to rain, it's just how much I can avoid. I'll take getting wet and riding rather than no riding at all!
  22. The sleeping bag is rated for temperatures of 15 to 25 degrees. You will be very cold and I would recommend something that can cope with just above freezing. I use a sleeping bag liner in that bag and have been toasty in the winter. Saying that I have a more substantial bag on standby
  23. Thanks for the tips chaps! I have two bottles of Skin So Soft (the old type) so will be packing one of them. Need a mozzie net but have time to get that.
